Title: The USMC has conquered my query popups
Post by: ltrskn on October 25, 2007, 01:51:07 PM
Hello--

I have the problem that the USMC War Memorial query box is being used by other sorts of park lots. (On occasion, closing the query box crashes my game to desktop, so I would prefer to revert to the standard query boxes for all but the USMC lot itself.)

In the support threads I have read that the files were going to be updated to fix the takeover problem, but the download package I receive from the LEX contains files still dated anno 2005. Removing the old files I had and installing the current download does not fix the problem. Is it possible the older, problem files are still on the LEX?

Many thanks, and Semper Fi.

So now all other parks (including the in-game ones) have the USMC query? Sounds like the creator accidentially used the same ID for it as the regular park query UI ID. For a quick fix, open the war memorial file with the Reader, click on "Fill the list" and look for the UI file. If you right-click on it and select "preview", you should be able to determine if you found the UI you were looking for. Now right-click and select "Remove", then save the war memorial file.

I do apologise. I had redone this and prepared it for upload but it seems I never actually updated it so I have redone the Readme as the props that were included in the original are now in a pack. It is now updated on the LEX.

Thank you, Andreas, for the quick fix advice. Good reference for the future.

Thank you, Barby, for the quick response and corrected upload. I have tested the queries out after your correction, and civilian rule is now restored to my many parks. The USMC memorial remains, as it should, with the proper military honour query box. Problem solved.

:) to both of you,

Best regards--
