Title: Clearing a lot in the LE
Post by: Pat on October 25, 2007, 09:15:15 PM
Step by step Tuturial on clearing a lot the easy way....

Step one you want to make sure you have a lot that you want to rework.  For this purpose im using the fire airport landing strip... You may use any lot to do this with...

Pic one here is the fire airport landing strip....

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg155.imageshack.us%2Fimg155%2F4347%2Fpic1ry2.jpg&hash=49602bf91e6480c15e4b39f40439921d88967990)

Pic Two is where we start to make some progress as you see here im in the Base Textures Tab ok...

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg149.imageshack.us%2Fimg149%2F7751%2Fpic2pc4.jpg&hash=a18aa0df4399563ae6e0bb0c176316a6a076bb9f)

Now as what i did i started in the upper left corner of this lot and left click and hold to get this white line here....

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg145.imageshack.us%2Fimg145%2F9121%2Fpic3wa4.jpg&hash=22a153eb058e88caa572ece517bf8c465b7c1c73)

As you see i have the lot completly highlighted and i did this by like i said of left click and then drag to cover the whole lot....

Now you want to delete these texture,  Just hit delete on your keyboard and all the base textures will delete like so....

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg139.imageshack.us%2Fimg139%2F5453%2Fpic4nc9.jpg&hash=b757a9b3cd70517184464e6f385ea73a85b996f4)

So just repeat the steps for Overlay textures

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg99.imageshack.us%2Fimg99%2F9949%2Fpic5qn4.jpg&hash=9a7c753d9d57fb20bac8ef91c1581d12bab843f5)

and delete again same way to get this results

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg136.imageshack.us%2Fimg136%2F6925%2Fpic6oj1.jpg&hash=ded155da75f3cfd35cc389a5024e0edc8a1e3e19)

now go to props and do the same thing

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg132.imageshack.us%2Fimg132%2F6545%2Fpic7ni3.jpg&hash=77d78ab260dafb4d6ac33c2e737209d04ec41c63)

and delete same way as before to have now this final results

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg99.imageshack.us%2Fimg99%2F8589%2Fpic8qh0.jpg&hash=2acd84fc981dd8c63630b5b9c01ad56af4d27be8)

So now you will have a blank lot with just the building on it.... Now you are free to lot as you wish to have it... the way you like it....

Nice tip.  Thanks Pat!  that will simplify things. . I had figured out to delete things one by one.. . this is so much better

noob Question. . .if you pick up a lot. . work on it and just save it. . how do you find it again in lot editor?. . when I click on the original name, with the (supposed)new features it comes up with only the original features.
I am able to see it in my doc/plugins. . .can I right-click and open with LE?
I think I am missing something here.

I love all the props to play with. . is there a simple way to see all the files that LE lists?
