Title: MBEAR Villa Vipla BSC
Post by: High5Tower on November 27, 2007, 11:11:22 AM
I have the brown box problem with this new download. And it also sets as a 1x2 and not a 2x2 as advertised and it looks like a 1x2 in the picture so just a typo? I checked and I have all the dependency files but since the other 80 people that have downloaded this have not mentioned this problem then I most be missing something. Thank you.

The model together with a prop descriptor was included with the install so you should not have any brown box problems unless you are missing a dependency pack. Check the MBEAR\Villa Vipla folder and make sure you have the model there.
As for the lot size, it is indeed a 1x2 and I forgot to rename before posting. I have updated the filename and updated the upload on the LEX.

I did download #3 and still have the brown box. Yes the model is there . I checked all the othere MBear properties and they are working just fine. I checked all my dependency dates and am current. I see that nobody else has reported this problem so its got me puzzled.

I was also having a problem with the brown box, even with updated files and all dependencies. When I looked at the files in the Reader, the Resource Key Type 1 entry for the Building Exemplar did not match the TGI numbers for/in the model file. After editing the Type 1 entry, the building now appears for me. (I hope I got the terminology right, that's the best I can explain my experimentation). I haven't run the game with the correction yet, but the brown box is gone and the villa is beautiful. Can someone let me know if I made the right correction?

Many thanks and best regards...

Yes you have made the right correction  I cannot update this as I am away from home but will do so as soon as I am home. Apologies for that; I know why it happened but it doesn't excuse my error.

Given the volume of work you do, the small number of errors you make, and the good nature you answer our questions, you need never excuse your errors.  We will alway forgive you. :P

Thank you for the confirmation, BarbyW. The files are so complicated sometimes that I hesitate to tinker with them and just compound problems.

I am grateful for all the hard work you do for us all the time.  :)

Best regards--

I have updated the file on the LEX as, as I thought, I had uploaded the wrong model with the lot. The model in the original upload has no nitelites and the new one does.
