Today I have made the first UI for lot querries
I am using the default maxis UI and adding The NHP logo to the lower left corner. Today I have made the first UI for lot querries.
The logo has instance of 00000000,46a0006b0,e9000001 for the small logo and the large is e9000000. their sizes are 50x40 and 60x50, file sizes 3.6 kB and 5.5 kB respectively.
The range of e90##### is where I am planning on adding all of the NHP UI associated stuff and it may end up with other components for essentials packs as we develop them.
I chose the approach of using the original Maxis UIs as templates as doing so would minimize the memory required for the additional UI.
The main reason we decided to make custom UIs is to make our lots more easily identified. As we are planning on an expansion into BATTing it is now the time to be doing these sorts of things before we have large numbers of releases to update.
All power UIs overwrote the default maxis ones as a test to evaluate the their look and function and to ensure reliability across a number of known lots.

Awesome work Mog!! Your, gonna have to teach me how to do that stuff later. When I start making lots, I may want to play around with those. Maybe we can get a UI setup for NHP lots in cooperation with another groups models.... Hence my behind the scenes project where I am re-lotting my plugins folder :P
W2E belongs to another occupants group. Another menu. This is probably why the logo does not show there.
I can not help much because I havent made many testing with this ::)
That was to test that it was only the power UIs were changed. as w2Eis very close I felt of was a good test to display though others were also tested.
The main thing I really need to know at this point before release and that will be in about 1-2 weeks.
is the range of instance starting with e90 being used by anyone?
If so is there a range that is suitable?
I really dont want this to conflict with someone elses work but in the absence of further information any instance range being used will be taking a risk.
I think you should contact Barbyw about this. She can point you to the info you are requesting.
Ok I will make sure the pm i sent earlier gets to her but i had a touch of trouble with the browser refusing to connect to SC4D
will send it again.
jason, dealey has made a tuto available on the lex a guide to custum query
worth reading :)
Thanks wou..... Maybe one I get a chance I will look it up!!
More of a progress report than anything else
I have completed allocating the provisional instances for all potential NHP lots.
It Based on the maxis set of UIs for lots
One thing I have noticed is that there were several of some UIs that were duplicated
and some of them dont appear anywhere in the game I am aware of or I dont recognise them.
I could probably prune them if I know which ones would not be used but due to the inability to tell for sure without length searches and the minimal size of the entire file (120 kB) I have left them in.
At this point its an internal release only for verification/testing.
Hello Moganite - I have the same thoughts about UI's as yourself. Sometimes less is more. I rarely click on a building through the course of gameplay except to make the occassional one historical so one may as well put their efforts into the bat.
Opps - almost forgot to say "nice logo UI"
Best Regards - Jim Myers
Thank you for your comments jmyers2043.
I wonder why the fists custom UIs went fancy images etc when a small logo in the corner would do the job.
I have learnt a few other things about UIs in general and am begining to experiment with a couple of ideas.
Out of curiosity I wonder if a similar set of BLaM and BSC UIs could be made with sets to so projects more than one group worked on can have all of the logos we would need an additional meg in RAM to do all the combinations but I think it would be better if such a set only had the ones that are actually being used.
The logos themselves take up 3-5 kB the big part is all of the UI files.
The other thing that is needed is a coherent policy on the useage of our logo with BATs and lots and possibly CC in general.
This is a note that the Querry UIs has been uploaded to the STEX.
Until we actually have someone cleared for uploading lots here I feel its better to hold off on uploading it.
This Thread will be an announcement thread for any NHP creations that are being updated on the LEX.
The file that has been updated today is the NHP Custom UIs. We have included an installer and new Custom UIs for the NHP CAMeLots upcoming. These new UIs have been made from the BSC original ones and been updated with the NHP Logo as shown below:
