In the course of developing my "practice" region's suburb locations, I noticed a problem I hadn't had before, which was high traffic congestion in some of the neighborhoods themselves. After poking around, I found that while most small R$ residences hold no more than 13 people, the 2x2 Berwick home was holding over ninety! To make this even more odd, the 4x4 "Berwick Neighborhood" residential lot held less than half that number, even though it contained four Berwicks within it.
I'm not really sure what my question is, here. Maybe, is there a way to change the number of residents in a downloaded lot that is part of a larger pack (instead of its own file)? Is there a way that this lot's creator might happen by a comment on exactly what's going on to put my mind at ease? Although this is only the latest, I've run across quite a few strange employee/resident numbers of late...
Cheers.
The occupants for all the houses in the packs have been produced by the X Tool to reflect accuractly the Maxis standard. I have checked the Berwick and the occupancy is correct but the occupancy for the 5x4 neighbourhood is not. I have corrected this and updated the file on the LEX.
Wow, that's an awful lot of occupants in a simple light-density 2x2 house. Thanks for clearing it up, though and updating the "neighborhood" lot. I'll just have to be more careful with my subdivision layouts to prevent the hundred people packed into that house from clogging the streets up too bad.
Cheers.
Well, the "problem" is that the Berwick is a rather large building, compared to other low density residentials. Like Maxis did with the in-game buildings, the X Tool calculated occupancy by the size of the building. 90 residents seem to be a helluva lot, but then again, I never saw a single family house that holds 13 residents either... ;)
