Is it possible to get Sketch-up models into gmax? If so how?

that is possible, you must have sketchup pro later export the model to *.3DS, then already you can import it to gmax.

But there is a problem, the textures don't appear in the gmax. only a solution, you have to "*" (i don't know as say in english "poner") the textures in the same folder of your sketchup model and the future gmax model.

I hope to helped you.

see you later!

Yes Godzillaman, unfortunately, for the meantime you have to use the pro version to export your model to GMAX, or you can take the Blender route, which has its issues still. There is an exporter out there on the web for the .obj object format, but it has remained illusive for me to find.

Actually Chivaman You can do all of the texturing within Sketchup and export to GMAX and still save the texture cooridinates and inforomatin, you just have to choose the correct options when exporting via .3DS. Though, if you have advanced knowledge of GMAX texturing you can choose not to do any texturing in Sketchup.

Just to let people know, i have Sketchup Pro 6, and will be offering a 3DS exporting service, later in march when SKlion is up and running.
