...No, these are not screenshots of SimCity 5 with NOB's plugins installed. Just showing you how typical fishing ports in Japan look like, to give you an idea of how the designer intended these lots to be used.

It is not possible to measure and to know the influence that he gave me since looked his BAT at first!!
I loved the pics you posted Asahi. Where is that fishing village? The seawalls around it are very interesting. Especially around the little island with the small bridge leading to it. That would make some very kool BATting.

Mas71san, No, I don't have Photoshop. ww
Gaston, they are in Awaji Island (Awaji-shima) near Kobe. the island is connected to the main Honshu island by the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, which you'll find a BAT of it at ST by fukuda.
The round "seawall" around the little island looks bridge-like to me. Isn't there a opening below it? I imagine it must be there so that you can observe the sea and the shoreline of the little island.
Thank you for the information on the villages, Asahi-san. I downloaded NOB-san's fishing port stuff. I have a question you might be able to answer. In the discription on his Fishing-port Expansion Pack, he asks to download both the fishing port set and the naval port set. The fishing port was no problem to find. But what about the naval port? I can not seem to find it.

I can't find a naval port set either, Gaston.
I don't know for sure, he could be referring to his 4 naval ports found in his landmarks page.
I'll check with him later on his BBS, but meanwhile, you can try that out.
To Gaston san.
A Dependence file of Fishing-port Expansion Pack (漁港セット 拡張パック) is

Just a random question... and I'm almost ashamed to ask it... but what does the -san mean? Like Gaston-san? ()what()
That's just a Japanese expression so no need to feel ashamed. :)
It's basically a honorific, to put some politeness when you address somebody else. You can think of it as the Japanese equivalent of "Mr." "Mrs." "Ms." or "Miss", but not too polite, with enough casualness for everyday use. You can use it for basically anybody without thinking about his/her gender or marital status so it's convenient.
Thank you Asahi-san (I hope that's right)! I think it's much easier to use than the English Mr. / Mrs. / Ms. / Sir. etc. etc. :P
Domo arigato gozaimasu Asahi-san. Soon you will be teaching us gaijin your beautiful language. ;D

MAS-san,
I thank you for your concern. After posting here I answered my own question. I had not put in the subway portion. So the lots did not show properly. I do have the dependencies. As far as a screen shot... I have not yet figured out how to post images here on SC4Devotion . I need to find a link to image shack and figure out how to save images there. Then I need to figure out how to link the image here. I will go read the tutorial on how to do this. Thank you again. I hope all is well in Japan.

I agree with that - it's just a small change but it makes a big difference. I would never go back to the default texture!

That looks very nice on its own, but it looks very out of place compared to the surrounding buildings.

Well... I don't think it looks out of place at all. I think it blends in perfectly... But I'll second the request for more buildings with this theme! ;)
Thanks some message.

@NOB - Maybe you have done this already, but I suggest using Pegasus' "One Flag, Many Nations" prop for the flag (IID 073d4582). That way, Porco Rosso can defend any city from air pirates... ;)
This will give a really great touch to the industrial canal areas
Hi snorrelli.
I use American flag, because CURTISS Pilot is American in the movie. :)

I was going to say, that looks familiar ;D
NOB is there anymre Gundams tuff in your futre,I'd love some Zaku's and and that other one (The one char uses latter on in the series.)
Wow, that is neat!
i'll join, i love NOB a true master i could survive without his rail textures
NOB, finally I found a place to thank you for your brilliant harbour lots. I downloaded them already some time ago, but didn't fond a place to send you a proper Thanks A Lot!
So: Thanks a lot. &apls &apls
NOB has graciously given us permission to make Prop Packs, and update his works.
So, now available on the LEX:
NOB Mega Props Vol01 (http://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1554) which includes the building models for the Civic buildings found at http://hide-inoki.com/~nob/lot.htm
NOB Mega Props Vol02 (http://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1555) which includes all of the major Seaport & Naval props from the same page.
And NOB Mega Props Vol03 (http://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1556) which contains the smaller props & boats for his seaports & naval packs.
Included in each zip is a Cleanitol file, to remove any duplicates now found in the Mega Packs.
More to come soon, so keep an eye on the LEX.
OMG ! I smell some growing empty lot fixing
yaaahhhhh, this is super news.
I think I may leave work now and say I am sick. hehehe.
Thanks Nate for all the hard work.
&apls
Robin
And I smell some harbour props that someone who just became sick and left work will be using... ::)
Excellent and thank you, Dita! &apls
I'm very curious about what is going to happen now....
Is it in some way advantageous to use the mega prop packs? I have used all NOB harbourlots for some time now. Also I have made a lot of edited ones for my own purpose, mainly emptier versions of NOB's originals.
Or is this just about loading time of my game?

If you want to create your own harbour (and especially if you want to upload them), with props made by NOB, it is a lot easier to use a single prop pack (or two) as a dependency, rather than pointing to multiple individual uploads, which may contain functional and less functional (read: growing empty) buildings and lots that are not required.
If you already use all harbour lots by NOB, you do not have to download any mega packs replacing models that you already have.
However, loading time would probably come down a little, in the same way as DatPacker takes it down.
And if you want to download other (read: made by Rooker1) harbour lots, partially using the same props,
you would benefit from having them in prop packs rather than scattered around your plugins folder. :)
Thanks RippleJet.
Well, if I have lots that used NOB's props within thier own files I probably would end up with double files. Useless memory fillers.... I get the picture.
I have never heard of Rooker1, where can I find her/him? Not on SC4D or Simtropolis....
QuoteI have never heard of Rooker1, where can I find her/him? Not on SC4D or Simtropolis....
Have a look at the posts above yours ;D
You have never heard of me, I'm really hurt.
As to what I am up to, you'll just have to wait and see.
Robin ;)
this super news indeed and so Robin have you made it home yet? are you resting well lol.... $%Grinno$%
WOOO, will add these to my dl list so once i finally get playing again.... thanks Dita, king of the repackage
now what about some Cleanitol's (for the free thread)... $%Grinno$% :P
Thanks
Joe
I installed the 3 new NOB Mega Packs and notice that I still have the "empty lots" for the 5 seaport lots. I ran cleanitol and then manually inspected that all old models were removed. But maybe these packages were not supposed to correct that problem since in the description it did not mention this subject. :-\
Also I noticed that when I bulldozed the lots that the back foundation wall remains and all of the wall for the upper left corner going down to the water front remains.
I'll put these back in my holding area file.
For the LNG property I noticed that the "Tanker-03-LNG2 0x51ab4b60" model was the only model that was not replaced. So I assume that it was in good working order. Thank you for you great work.
Oh oh it is on the Cleanitol list. Need to up my eyes. ::)
Thank you so much for sharing !!
We are apliciate for your very hard work !! &apls &apls
and I'm loolking forward to some works by someone in the world wiht NOB san's great PROPs !! :)
High5Tower: All of NOB's models were impeccable to start with, but putting them into prop packs helps in many ways. It speeds up game loading times. It's easier to download and keep track of dependencies having them all bundled into several little packages. And it's convenient for lotters, having a nice selection of props to work with all in one pack, so the number of depenencies required can be kept to a reasonable number. There will be more NOB Mega Packs to come.
Updating the lots is still a work in progress. But having the Mega Packs available on the LEX ready for when the lots are released will help to avoid the confusion for most of us that happens while looking around a Japanese site.
Soon after my first post I realized that this is just what you said it is and worked on re-organizing all my NOB files. I didn't realize how much I had. But when its neat stuff you tend to slowly collect it all. And yes I do appreciate the mega pack system. Thank you for your hard work. &apls
Ouch.... &cry2
Rooker1 and RippleJet, I owe you both an apology...
Sorry Rooker1, I overlooked your name. Will you not punish me too hard?
But I took a look in the uploaders sections on the LEX and the STEX, but found no uploads from you.
And because I am constantly searching for nice harbour related uploads, RippleJet made me curious.
And I still am.
Last weeks trying to build a 25 large cities region as one harbour plus surroundings....
Thanks for this guys...! I've really liked some of NOB's props, etc, but had trouble locating everything and using them in my own lots... now they'll all be together, so it should make it lots easier!
I was wondering if Nob has called it quit's ? or is he re-designing his site? I noticed all the images for his downloads at his site are gone, and look archived like, if you know what's going on with Nob's site please let us now!..
thank you 8) Craig
@Craigsters san and all.
I talked with NOB san yesterday in e-mail.
This is a very lacking report from NOB san..... &mmm
He having keep very hard everyday long time, so He stops his site temporarily.
When he would gets his free time for SC4, He wants to comeback again, he said. ;)
Certainly, NOB san deleted links to some his works.
but He entrusted the "Use Permission" of his work to BSC.
The day will may come when we can get them on SC4D-LEX. ;D
By the way,
Thanks so much again NOB san for your many wonderful works for us !!
and I'm(we're) looking forward to your return with your new good works and your good smile again some time!!

Hey Craig far as whats happening with NOBs site I dunno but I think in order to preserve his works BSC or a few folks where trying to redo the lots and convert to english to upload on the LEX... I do know that there is Prop Packs on the LEX for NOB
- Vol 1 (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1554)
- Vol 2 (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1555)
- Vol 3 (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1556)
NB: Thank you Mas-san for helping out as well....
Dita is currently working on NOB's lots to post to the LEX. They are being updated to remove the RCI Blank Lots but no changes to the lotting will be made. Dita will post about what he is doing later.
This is great news for NOB fans that don't speak Japanese!
And now I finally found a way to thank NOB for his great work.
NOB, thank you very much! &apls &apls &apls
It is sad news that NOB is leaving the community, and all of his works will be treated with the absolute respect they deserve.
To NOB, my many thanks for all of your hard work. And thank you Mas-san, for being the bridge we needed to bring these creations to the LEX. It is an honor to update them.
Hi to all!
I have read emilin tutorial about "Building a port-the hard way" , and there is a linklist inside the first page of the turorial suggesting to use NOB's port set for Docks and Lots.
Next , looking for NOB's port set , i read that there was a problem with RCI blank lots , and NOB's files.
Can anyone tell me pls , if i can download NOB's port set ? and where to find them if problem has fixed..
thanx
Unfortunately the fixed lots aren't available just yet. Check back soon though.
thanx xxdita , i wonder if i can download Craigsters files? is it ok ?
NOB's hIMAGINE site no longer has his files available. So until the lots are fixed, and on the LEX, I'm afraid all you can do is be patient.
Sorry for the double post, but actually, NOB's site is back up after a short hiatus. While you wait for the completely remodded works to appear on the LEX, you can indeed use his originals, available at http://tokitoko.hp.infoseek.co.jp/lot.htm
But know beforehand, that as the updated versions roll out, you will need to demolish his originals before updating with the new files, and removing the original lots.
And also, I presume, I have to relot all the lots I made that are based on NOB's files?
Meaning I can rebuild my complete harbour areas....
There must be a very important reason to use the fixed files. I never had any problem with them, except maybe that they provide an awful lot of jobs, so I am hardly able to build enough residential to cope with the demand.....
That all depends on whether or not you've added the building desc file to the lot. If so, then you'll only need to replace the building in LE if you want to use the updated desc. If not, then the sc4desc file will in all likelyhood be removed by a future Cleanitol, which will render your lot useless. So be careful with that.
What I did was quite simple:
I opened a lot in LE, edited some props and saved under a new name....
Never thought of fooling around with desc files etc.
If you Saved As for a Plopable, then the desc is automatically included in the new lot files, so you should be safe.
Double check in Reader though, just to make sure.
@xxdita san
Hello again. :)
Thank you always for your support for as Japanese site (or works and more) as well. ;)
By the way,
We know that NOB san's some works are not able to Download from his site now. &mmm
and You already uploaded on SC4D-LEX for us his some models. (Thanks again for them !)
Will you also upload(make) other "NOB's PROP PACK" or "NOB's Works" in a future?
I.E - his walls, vehicles, old japanese builidings, EDO-series,,,,and more.(that we can't get now in his site.)
I know well that It's hard work about making PROP-PACK with not English language. ;)
so It's not request for you ! $%Grinno$% (It's only simple question !!)
but I'm(we're) very glad if NOB san's all works will upload in SC4D. I hope so. :D
Thank you.

Safe... except that you'll have to redo it by replacing the building in LE, as mentioned in your first post, correct?
As far as I understand this discussion the only safe way for me is now: play my existing regions with NOB's own files and, after you have finished the updated files, start a new region.
I just have to relot all my selfmade ones..... A good occasion to improve them in some aspects.

Nope! $%Grinno$%
If you open a ploppable lot in Maxis LotEditor and "save as", LE will create a new unique lot and a new unique building exemplar, and they will both be included in the new SC4Lot file (there is no desc file for a ploppable building exemplar). The building will stand on exactly the same spot on the lot. The building exemplar will still link to the same S3D model (which may be an external dependency), but since the building exemplar is unique, you can change its properties without affecting the original building exemplar.

And then you would have both files in your menu, until you remove the original. That would give you time to make sure you've demolished all instances of the buildings, and replaced them with the updated versions.
Masuda-San, Yes, much more NOB is on the way. We are ironing out a small issue with his textures, and then many of his great works will be available on the LEX. Others with more experience in the area are working on updating his transit stations, to make them available on the LEX as well. Thank you so much for being our bridge to the East my friend.
Also, do you think there is interest among Japanese players in CAMeLots for NOB's works? Or do you think they would prefer Vanilla/Rush Hour versions? If necessary, I could do both for all growables.
Snorelli, the building will only need to be replaced in LE if you choose to use the updated stats. Otherwise the file will work as is. All of NOB's buildings to be available on the LEX will of course be updated with XTool, so they will have more balanced stats. So it probably would be best to use the new building desc's, but I would suggest that careful attention is paid to the difference in the ways the buildings affect your cities.
FrankU, a new region is not necessary at all. Both buildings (original and updated) can be used simultaneously, as I am creating new lots for them all. A Cleanitol will be included with each upload, but that doesn't mean you have to use it right away, and even if you do, that only moves the files out of your plugins, so that if you do run into any problems, you can restore them as needed. Again, make sure to pay attention to the changes in the updated files.
The first set to be released will be NOB's Civic Lots. The only dependency for these lots will be NOB Mega Props Vol01, available on the LEX.

Ahhh... all right.
I thought I had understood that I had to demolish all original NOB lots before I was able to put the updated files into pluginsfolder nad into my cities.
And the lots I made as edited copies do have the same problems as NOB's, I guess?
So, the NOB files with flaws (growing on empty lots etc) can be used next to the new ones you are working on?
And eventually I can use both next to each other and, if I want to, can replace them piece by piece?
Absolutely.

QuoteAlso, do you think there is interest among Japanese players in CAMeLots for NOB's works?

huumm,,, That's really delicate question. ;D
We useZ(have) a lot of "Plugins" properly to a purpose of game each MAPs.
(A lot of users don't summarize BAT and MOD in one "Plugins". It's a Japanese general play-style of SC4.)
I don't understand well how many players always using CAM and CAMelots in SC4.
I still watching many kinds of opinions to then, there are both CAMer and Vanila.
so I hope to you make LOTs for both to each works. It's the best I think. :)
(It's my personal opinion to the last. ;))
Thanks again

Hi I was looking at NOB's site looking for the Syowa japanese house set but couldn't find it. I think these lots are growing in my city without the building on it, so i was looking to see if I was missing a file or maybe just delete it. Thanks if anyone has the filenames or a link :P
NOB-san has taken them off his site, but you might be able to find if you remember the URL to them... Unfortunately I don't have them either because recent I emptied my plugins and re-downloaded everything. But he might have a site map, linking to them, or you could try to email NOB.

beat me too it!
Can anyone tell me which dependencies/texutures are required for the Dock series by NOB?
You need only one file: Ftexture.dat
Funny enough there are several versions of this file (included in some of his downloads), but as far as I know the one with filesize 893kB is the latest one.
Find it on NOB's site.
Nob is good BAT maker!
You should download his bat,
He is great BAT maker!
You must use his bat,
I wishes he revenge!
I remember years ago that site had a 1 x 1 railroad tile lot that allowed for 90-degree turn for railroads. It was great for tight spots like railroad tunnels. It was transit enabled. Anyone know where it is now?
Possibly on my hard drive. $%Grinno$%
In which case, it will be updated as soon as possible, then uploaded to the LEX. Though, truth be told, his transit items are last on my list.

I'm interesting in NOB's projects too, but that page is dead now, I see it was working to the end of october...
Maybe sbody know about new site?
We could try to get his permission to upload his stuff to LEX.
It's good idea, I think, because there were some interesting projects, probably only 3 of them I saw on the LEX, some I took from NOB's page on september, it was working normal that time, sorry I don't know about kinds of NOB's contacts, maybe working email? Can you monitoring that subject?
Best from cold Poland ;)
Vester,
Yes that is a good idea!
NOB has made some really great additions to the game. I have almost all of his work on my HD, but that won't help others...
It might be a clue, though, to my esteem of his work.
We do have NOB's permission since ages back...

How are things going along in regard to uploading his BATs to the LEX? ()what() I got a new comp. so I'm just dying to download his railroad texture mod again :'(
NOB's website seems to have disappeared. After a reinstall i lost all of his great stuff. Anyone here able to share? There is some of his work on the lex but by far not everything.
I have most of his stuff. I don't know how to share it. I mean, where should I upload the files?
Hi, can anybody help to send old NOB's stuffs from his closed site to email? :'(
Hey guys!
Need some help with finding one of NOBs best work, his fishing series.
I've tried the links on the first page of this thread, they seem dead ???
Any help? ()what()

I hate to ask, and I'm not sure where else to post this... but would anyone know if NOB made it out of the earthquake ok? I found this thread looking up Google for SOMY. Thank you... sorry to bother people about non-directly SC4 stuff.

Hi, me and a friend are currently trying to make a Gundam-themed space-colony-city. Nob's impressive G-project creations are of course extremely helpful for us, but I can't find some of his stuff, even on the site indicated by danholo;
I'm talking about these two buildings :

(harbour with Z'goks and Acguys fighting GMs)
and this one :

(Doms fighting Gunktanks and Gundams)
I think I also saw somewhere on the internet another harbour with Zocks (large green robots).
Could anyone please tell me where they can be found ? Are they included in the "Nob mega props" packs ? ()what()
I think that it's on here, http://hide-inoki.com/, if you open the sim city 4 thing, you will see NOB's stuff. Then scroll to the bottom where the Gundam stuff is.
I read in Skimbo's city journal(dragon island)that on NOB's sites are available some rice fields but I can't find them...can someone give me the link to them?
Thank you
