Title: Rush Hour Installation error: "Unable to locate required file..."
Post by: Owen Luby on March 24, 2008, 11:51:27 PM
As I install Rush Hour, when it reaches 46% a window pops up and says "Unable to locate file or required file is corrupt". It is stuck on a file called "Apps\00000000.016". Has anyone got any idea what's wrong? Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to continue the installation without installing that file?
I had this problem when reinstalling Command and Conquer The First Decade last year, but I still had the file needed from Command and Conquer Red Alert 2. When I put the file from CNC RA2 into the CNCTFD folder, it worked perfectly.
Basically what im saying, is that if you can continue the installation without installing this file, I can send it to you via pm, as its only about 150kb

I had the same problem earlier. All I did was buy a fresh copy of SC4 Deluxe on a school trip to London.
I'm quite sure you, unfortunantly, can't continue the installation without the file. The installer doesn't have that function, if I'm correct?
I even sent a mail to the Maxis/EA Online Support, this is a translation of the mail I got in return:

QuoteDear Casper,
Sorry for this late reaction, it could be that you've already found a solution to your problem.
Side note: I did, I bought a new copy
Perhaps you should take the file that is being copied and is corrupted (in your case: 0000000.016) out of the Simcity 4 directory (in your case: Simcity4/Apps) (Side note: I guess Simcity Vanilla installed correctly?) and restart the installation.

Ok i'll take into consideration all these ideas.

Cameron1991: Could you PM the file to me and I'll check if it works? That would be great.

Thanks everyone for your help. $%Grinno$%
