I know it used to be possible with some preparation, but I dont remember how to do it.
There used to be some kind of trick, or a certain way to terraform the area, to allow you to build two bridges side by side. I think it has something to do with building two bridges with a one tile space between them, then something else involving bulldozing one or both and rebuilding two side by side.
Does anyone know how to do this?
I remember a long time ago I had two one way bridges with a rail bridge right in the middle, with not spaces between them. I really want to be able to do that again.
Thanks for any help or suggestions! :)
Maybe you used lot based bridges, in which case it is possible, but normally dragging bridges it isn't possible.
I distinctly remember it being draggable bridges. Things had to be set up exactly right or it wouldnt work.
But it was soooo long ago, before Rush Hour I think, maybe that is what made it no longer possible.

Since this definitely interests me, too, I have to ask: what are "load-based" bridges, and where do I find one (or more ;) )??
And since it is possible to have tunnels side-by-side, why not bridges?
LOT based.. not LOAD based.. hehe .. and it means its a plop bridge.. fixed length, etc

Bugger - it must'a neen a loong night, can't even read anymore.. :o
Still, haven't seen any of those either - got a link for such a bridge, by any chance?
Much obliged,
no sorry.. they are rather old school.. no flexibility at all and requires precise terraforming.. generally a pain in the butt.. there may be some around.. perhaps someone else will see it and give a link.. I didn't like em even when they were more or less useful.. hehe.. now they are totally outdated.. perhaps a CJ'er will have one.. you know how those pretty boys are.. ;)
Know what you mean - too much trouble is not what I need - 'nuff problems with harbours. And I've never been one for asking pretty boys for anything.. ::)
Thanks, though..
Just noticed I had one example as I was "running up" my cities recently.. just fyi

Great example: since its not road: how did you do it? And: can it be done with regular bridges, i.e., a highway bridge next to a rail bridge?
That is done with NAM puzzle pieces.
As previously discuss.. no... only "pieces" can be used.. either lots or puzzle pieces from the NAM .. I was simply illustrating a case where they MAY look side by side..

Yeah, figured that, just had never done it with rail. Shame, though..
... and of course some of Buddybud's work

Yes, about those walls: I am wondering if I am missing something: I have the originals (Jeronji's) and BB's add-ons, yet I simply cannot get anything to work under the on-ramps. No matter how I turn them. What am I missing, doing wrong??
Here's another with a different mix.. ;) .. just stumbled across it.. the nice thing about getting old is I get to appreciate "rediscovering" all the stuff I've done before and forgotten.. lolz

There are not such standard pieces in those sets. In mine none at all. buddybud made some "fake" bridges, which have a fixed lenght, and can be placed "under" determinated NAM pieces, to make it look this way.
In the other hand, in my walls V2 I included such pieces, but are different textures ::)
I hope this helps (at least to not waste your time ;) )
Quoteyou know how those pretty boys are...
No, my friend, not really.
I've been MD/CJing for a few years and have never seen a "game" occurrence of side by side bridges.
...of course, I might have missed one while tending to my looks...
Good luck!

Not to worry, I've time enough so it can't get wasted (that's another neat thing about "getting old") :P
But it's not the bridges, those work fine - I can't get anything under the on-ramps, which makes the sunken highways look odd. There are some pieces called "joiners" - I've yet to discover their uses; and there are pieces with fake roads or streets (hard to make out): but no matter how I place them, on-ramps aren't covered, it seems. Which is a real pity - because in urban environments, that set is ideal..
Heres's what I mean..(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi283.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fkk289%2FDocRorlach%2Fbridges-onramps.jpg&hash=9c31975f112bcdf3982657687a391aa2fa19b7a0)
bad luck.... ::) ... there are no underbridge props for these walls. As mentioned above, there are for some newer versions, but different textures.
See next reply .... ;)
Handson ... here is a link to the under-onramp pieces you were asking about.

So, they do exist .... :D :D :D ... thanks for the useful link RLT

Becca, we've got to stop meeting like this.. :D
Sorry, though, but I have those, and unless they don't show up in the menu, I've yet to work out what to do with them.
HandsOn, the best way to figure out how to use something that isnt very pre-plop friendly is plop it on flat, open ground :)

That ain't it: it's that none of the pieces seem to fit under tha ramps, no matter how you turn them
To the best of my knowledge only 1 set of walls contains the pieces you suggest.. though it MAY be included in MAS71's new release of his "All in One" set (Japan forum)

These pieces are available on the STEX (search "walls".. you should find it).. sorry i have no link

The walls are probably located in the power menu as BuddyBud deemed that to be a not so used menu. ;)

Excellent point.. I'd forgotten the power menu thing .. its also true that several MML's exist for those lots, any one of which would block the display unless you plop the MML

Correct, that's where they are found (a second set is found in the Misc. Trans menu). But the problem is this (see pic): some of the pices seem to have park paths attached and I've no idea on how to fit them. Yet BB's add-on clearly shows under-onramp usage..I'm baffled..

It wouild seem you have a mix of sets.. which is easy to do as they evolved over time.. you just need to find the right "piece".. they aren't in a total set as best I recall .. you'll just have to go hunting .. there are many ideas and concepts that were evolving at the time.. under-extensions, "support' extensions, over-path extensions (ie walking paths) slanted vs "filled" walls, etc.. and many were even released with the diagonal pieces and orthogonal pieces in seperate dl's
I must have downloaded these particular pieces time and time again. Since Jeronji (whom I believe to be present at this site from time to time :P ) came up with the original, how about a re-packaging of them, cleaintol file and all, to sort them out?? I don't know if BB's still around for an update..??
You have 2 serarate problems ... another download is conflicting with the texture IIDs. The second, ehn ever you plop on of the under-ramp pieces, besure the orientation arrow if pointing downward (6:00), all other pieces need to have the arrow pointing upwards (12:00) (except the top and bottom pieces, which should point to the right of the top or 3:00). If you need any more help, I'll do some pictures later.
Oh, the joiners are for doing these walls in multiple levels.
Thanks, Becca. The conflict of texture ID's makes sense. How do I find out which is the culprit?
Don't worry about pictures, until the conflict is resolved I stick with the mas71 (or marrast) pieces - I've just redone a few miles of h-way with them.. :-[
Hehe.. .know what you mean... I'm sure some clever person will come up with "dragable walls" one of these days where you only have to "plop plop plop" the special effects areas while the rest will just be "colored in" .. $%#Ninj2
Just find the set with the trails in it.

Unfortunately that proved futile thus far. I know that I've had this problem since I first downloaded the add-ons. The park menu yielded nothing, hence it must be a building. One day the search will continue.. ()sad()
