Title: Marrast's Sunken Highway Walls
Post by: HandsOn on April 16, 2008, 11:04:03 AM
I've recently re-installed Marrast's brilliant walls for sunken highways, and I believe BSC Custodian handles them now. I don't really have problem and I might in fact use them wrong, but take a look at the pic: the onramp is partially transparent, and the road of the NAM puzzle piece seems "under construction": half of it is covered with a grey texture. Absolutely minor, but maybe someone could tell me what I did wrong..?

Those are Buddybud's sunken highway walls and you just have them are the wrong depth.  One meter deeper will do the trick.

How did you know I understand Dutch (sorry, Flemmish)  %confuso

But since my written knowledge of your language is limited, I reply in English: I used, on advise from Diggis, the 15m hole digger - that's why the NAM bridge is flat. That might thus be the problem. As I said, its trivial, and I prefer the crossings to be flat, and I never managed to raise just one tile by 1m..

En weer: bedankt..

If I remember right, one of the hole digging lots, that lower the terrain 14 meters.

It indeed does, but if you use it the NAM on-slope road pieces point up rather than going straight across. And Diggis: I won't swear an oath on it, but I think it was your advice - terminste denk ik het..  :D - if not just take credit for teaching me yet another thing (the list is growing). In fact I want to ask you about the menu ordering, but I'll PM you on it.. (not everyone needs to see how clueless I am).

True enough, but sometimes it get's embarrassing  ::) an my hunt for stuff 'n errors 'n test lots messing up the menu and no easy way to find anything in the morass of my plugin..well, you get the idea.

Hehe, perhaps you should what I did, after my plugin folder got a real mess. I dumped the plugin folder and downloaded everything over, around 2.2 GB, and ordered them with a subfolder for each creator/team. For some things that I may want to remove sometimes and have in the folder sometimes, I created seperate subfolders (eg. Mods). I only downloaded from the LEX, except for the LBT Civic Buildings Pack

Here's an example;

Oy veh, I am trying so hard to avoid that. Think of the extra bandwidth I'll be consuming on the LEX. On the other hand, I could right an AutoDownloader. But another problem is that certain stuff is already no longer available. It would be sooooo much easier if everyone followed the examples of BSC and SFTB and use installers and Cleanitol files..

But to get back to the topic: is there any chance that those rather excellent walls ever get an update to work with the NAM required 15m depth?

I am seriously thinking of doing a set myself.

You mean you're going to create an embankment set???  &apls After seeing your beach stuff on the PLEX I can only hope you'll hurry  :P.
Seriously, though, after the trouble I went through to get the sunken highway just right so the bridges remain flat, an embankment set that would work to NAM specs would be a great addition.
