I've made this request already in several foruns, so far I didn't had any luck. I've also posted this at Barby's Shosaloza thread, when she showed her snow resort, but didn't had any answer. Maybe now, at a proper thread I have more luck ;)
For some time now, I am planning to get some props/lots done for a snow resort. I've found a few nice models and have adapt them to the BAT/Gmax
Ski Chair 1x1 (http://rayden.zftp.com/sc4/ski_chair1x1.jpg)
Ski Chair 1x4 (http://rayden.zftp.com/sc4/ski_chair1x4.jpg)
Ski Chair 1x4 (http://rayden.zftp.com/sc4/ski_chair1x4_2.jpg)
Ski Gondola (http://rayden.zftp.com/sc4/ski_gondola.jpg)
Ski Gondola (http://rayden.zftp.com/sc4/ski_gondola2.jpg)
But, as I still can't bat properly, I need some of you nice batters to do some of the buildings to which those chairs connect to, like the ones on the link bellow.
LA CHAUX EXPRESS (http://www.televerbier.ch/index.cfm?dsp_pagebody=chauxexpress&dsp_pagetop=televerbier&dsp_image=televerbier)
Can it be done?
Also, some friend of mine from up north in the Arctic (near by) was planning to make a ploppable snow modd, but I don't know if he still has time for that &mmm ;)
Wow, the chairlifts looks really cool! Hope it will be soon in downloads !
The challenge is getting the wires and chairs to conform to the slope and join up properly...I have no idea how Maxis have done the power lines but it would need to be done the same way (i.e. draggable). If you conform the tower to the slope it will lean, which is not really what you're looking for..Unless the wires are done as props and vertically offset and they conform to the slope, but that would require someone with a good knowledge of modding....mine is, at it's best, less in it's infancy and more in the embryo stage...
Sorry Rayden /wrrd%&
Couldn't it be done, with the wires disappearing 2-4 meters for the towers. Then needs to be rotated in the right direction.
The cars would be plobbed in between.
I've actually tested in game as a overhanhing lot but I didn't know how to slope conform the lot itself, so the wires went into the terrain. I used the cablecar lot available in the STEX and I think also here at the LEX and it's not slope conforming. Could it be done as a overhanging lot and the towers and wires as props?
I am not one of the "in the know" types around here.... but in the lot editor in the foundations tab (maybe its called base tab) where you select the size of the lot.. there is an option to change the slope tolerance... min and max.... as for the props... wouldnt you have to render the poles separate from the wire and guides.... the poles would not be slope conforming props... but the wire and guides should be...? I would think that if you rendered the it all as one piece.... they would stick out from the face of the hill at a funny angle.

No, Silvio, actually my experiments with it came out looking so bad I quietly shelved the project...
...and then hid in shame for making you, among others, hope.
I'll drag it back out, though, and do a post here later this weekend on this thread summarizing what I was thinking. There are so many great minds here, and the helpful atmosphere is... well, let's just leave it as that the is no other place like SC4D.
In the meantime, you want a little snow? Well, take a look at 3RR today [linkie] (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=112.msg13103#msg13103)...
We'll figure this out.

Thx for the info BID, and you're right, I did render it all in one piece, and that's a no no, I should have done it separately. I'll give it a try that way. Anyway, I still need someone to do the buildings as I cannot bat that good. One thing it's to get some models and scale them, the other is to build a model from scratch, and I'm a complete noob on that.

Well, it's a pity you've put that aside, because I'm sure you would have made it. But I'll speak with about it later when I get home. I'll send you a PM. ;)
you know i can't wait for this good luck and awesome work so far
