Title: full employment, but with no commuters?!?
Post by: mthdscrd on May 27, 2008, 08:22:00 PM
i wanted to make a suburb outside of my central city so i plopped down a bunch of low-r, a little com, and set the clock running.  No one was moving in so i laid out some more com and I-HT.  they filled up quickly, but no one moved in to the city.  So i kept laying out more jobs, and soon i had 40K com, and 20k HT, in a city with a pop of just under 1000.  I can track the commuters coming from within the city, but large buildings with 1000's of workers just show as 'none' when I query the trans. info.
What up wit dat?

With things moving so slowly in this city, there has to be a problem somewhere.
My gut tells me taxes are too high, and that maybe you don't have enough jobs in the region as it is.
But if you'll use RippleJet's Census Repository v2 (http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=41&threadid=84816&STARTPAGE=1) you'll be able to get more specific information about your city, and the region as a whole.

And if you can get a screenshot of the Census Repository v2 information, someone here will be able to help further.
