Title: Menus
Post by: BruceAtkinson on June 09, 2008, 07:56:23 AM
Hello everyone.....
Once upon a time...a very long time ago, when I was playing SimCity and when I opened my Menus...it did not matter which one, Parks...Police...etc, my Menu icons would stay open until I choose to close them....now and for the last several months, when I open my Menus, as soon as I pick something...that menu tree closes...is this because I do not have enough ram, or have I inadvertently triggered a control that now closes my menus....
This isn't a critical issue, however it would be nice to have the menu icons stay open so I could save a couple of steps, when wanting to pick several items when developing an area.....

As far as I know when you click on an item in the menu it closes.  Pretty sure thats always been the case.  However if you open the menu the last tool you used will be active and you don't have to click again in which case the menu will stay open.

True, and that has - unfortunately - been my experience with the menus until now as well.

Bruce, did you have the Basic version of SimCity 4, and add rush Hour, or do you have the Deluxe version.

I can tell you that the deluxe version has always behaved the same way for me. Clik on an item, and the menu closes.

...Hey thanks everyone for responding...and RebaLynnTS, yes I actually started out with the first SimCity 4 version and then added Rush Hour....so, I am certainly glad I began my first message with "Once upon a time and very long ago...cause it has been a couple of years since adding Rush Hour....so maybe my memory flash was when I was using the basic SimCity 4.....
As I advance in years, both my memory and sense of time fade! :)

P.S.  Oh! please, save me the embarrasment, and don't tell me if the behaviour of the Menu Bars stopped staying open in SimCity 3000, cause if so....then my sense of time has really gone!  ()what()

Since I have always had the deluxe version, I can't say if the menu behavior has changed, but I suspect that is possible.

Hey...TTC, I know this isn't related to SimCity, however I noticed that you are from Ireland.....I just did an interview with Jaded Sun and reviewed their debut....have you heard them?  If so, do you like them?
I was actually blown away by their collective talent.
