Title: Problems with rendering
Post by: delija21 on June 20, 2008, 09:05:19 AM
ok,I've just rendered my first model in BAT4MAX,tested FSH Batch build and the button after that but when i try to open the file in LE it's empty....the file is there but not the model of the building. Is there something wrong with my ini files or what?? I have all rollouts and everything i should have in MAX

It sounds like you have may have a space in the file path, which messes up the FiSHMAN

He's referring to the name of the model.  After you import your LOD's into Gmax and render them, your new model file in the plugins only has the TGI of course.  When you change the name, you can't place any spaces in that name.  If there are spaces, as Diggis mentioned, FSHTool(which is the program that automatically attaches newly created the .fsh files to your model)  Instead of spaces, most people just use "_"s.

There is no spaces in the name....this is the name of the rendered LODs...usce_rec-0x5ad0e817_0x9538f6b2_0x250000.SC4Model

Any chance you could take screen shots of what you see when you press each of the buttons(after rendering)

When i press FSH Batch Build a new small window opens and close down after one or two seconds and when i press DAT FSH Insert i get a message "the fsh files are created by the fsh batch build after rendering the model"

That's what I expected.  Check that you have backslashes at the end of all of the file paths in your batformax.ini file.  Leaving those off is another thing that will cause you're problem.

Look at your install path....

TempPath="c:\3ds max 2008"

the folder has spaces, which causes FSHTool to not recognise the path.  You need to reinstall Max into c:\3dsmax2008

While you're at it, you will need to open up all the camlightrig model files and resave in Max2008 format

How do i open and resave camlightrig

Each CamLightRig file is a 3DSMax file.  Simply open them up in Max and resave.
