Don't know if any of this is even possible, but just had the idea. Why not a mod that would have some high wealth res and com (and even indust.) choose to invest in solar panels on their homes or place of business?
Here is the meat of the idea as far as my thinking will take me currently:
- It would lessen the power required for that lot
- It would have a max percentage of buildings it could be on in a city (25%? 50%?) to keep it realistic
- There could possibly be a ordinance that would come at a cost to the city coffers (similar to the ordinance for encouraging mass transit use), but increase buyers awareness of the tech and thereby encouraging them to invest in it.
-There could even be a industrial building or two that would produce them. There could even be a reward chain with multiple buildings that take part in the production of the solar panels, from manufacturing of the basic ingredients, all the way to the dealer that sells it to the customer.
Anyway, that's it for now. I'm guessing I'll have more ideas later, but thought I would check to see if this is even possible first. :)
