Title: Custom Content-working with diagonals
Post by: Alek King of SC4 on November 21, 2006, 11:15:45 AM
Base Textures: matching them up or aligning them so that the step pattern is avoided is
something i always do and it gives the city a much more natural look, if your buidlings base
textures match up with the diagonal roads/rails it really helps to visually soften the appearence of the the grid.  Key mods: NOBs grass rail text (the stone works for hard urban areas) a grass filler lot (i use the one with FFs electrification mod).  JRJ street side mod i use $$wealthall to eliminate the red brick. then i always have clean concrete and grass lines.

obviously this city is not heavily diagonal but it does have quite a few major
diagonal arteries

same mosaic as earlier but what i am talking about can be seen, the diagonals
do not have steps, hte shopping centers appear more built into the surrounding
transit infrastructure.

more pics and examples later.

oh yeah if you have tips on working with diagonals please post em here
