Since I've downloaded from the LEX I can't start up my game anymore. As soon as I've loaded it it crashes out so I can't play. It must be because of some of the files I've downloaded and installed. I don't know which file(s) is/are giving me the problem. Does anyone have an idea? If not, what should I do to get my game working again???
Hi mba4u2c, Im sorry to hear of your problems and I would honestly suggest starting with removing all the plugins from your folder... Then try and start the game without the plugins, from there after if there is a successful load then exit the game and then slowly add some files to the folder and see if there is a conflict after the load... that would be the best I can suggest... any further problems dont hesitate to ask at all
Thanks for the advice. I guess that is the solution. Problem is that I've downloaded many many files (maybe that's the problem) so it would cost me ages to start all over again. However, if there's no other solution I probably have to sigh...
how much have you downloaded if you don't mind me asking??? If you have downloaded a lot break it down into chunks then would be another best shot... IE say like 20 lots with all the dependencies...
I've got a suggestion, as anything from the LEX that would cause your game to crash would be of concern to the creator of the particular custom content involved. If you know what things you've installed since the game last ran properly, take all those out of the plugins folder and place them in a separate folder on your desktop. Then, add them back in one or two items at a time, running the game after each change. When your game crashes after that, you should have a pretty good idea of the offending file. You can then contact the creator or let us know here in a "There's a problem with...." I know everything that is uploaded to the LEX is tested really thoroughly, but the "stuff happens" factor is always present.
There also is a good chance that some non-LEX custom content you've previously downloaded that runs OK on its own has a conflict with a later download. This could be because the previous software doesn't follow proper guidelines and the later creator unwittingly built something that conflicts, or again just the application of the "if something can go wrong, it will go wrong sooner or later" rule. In any event, good luck, and keep us posted. We want all this great stuff to work, and will do whatever it takes to fix stuff that goes wrong.

One thing that I just thought of and I am sorry that I missed this before is if you downloaded any terrain mods??? If soo and if you are missing any part of it there will be a crash as it tries to load and there is nothing to load... So if that is the case just look for any mod with cpt in it ie CPT_C_MeadowshireCliff_Optional... thats just an idea what to look for :)
