HELP!!! I played all weekend worked so hard. I did change the settings once to software rendering to see if it would be better on my machine. Now it won't change back and I've tried numerous times to reset the options. None of them take, not just the rendering change.
Someone please help soon, otherwise I have to clean the house and I'd much rather build something. :'(
I thought maybe if I post what's happening now, it might help?? (still can't get the changes to take)

I haven't done anything other than try to change the settings. You can see most of the university and the private school are gone, along with so many other things (almost all BSC)
Maybe you should look at this topic (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=1201.0).
yep, been reading it and coming to the conclusion I might have it. I'm not through the entire thread yet, but will it affect my settings not saving? I'm just stuck on that (software vs. hardware) until I can change it or someone tells me I can't change it (and suggests what to do then)
BTW, when I'm trying to plop things now, I get no preview, where I did before I stupidly tried to change things. When I go to my graphic options, NOTHING is checked except resolution and 16 bit color. Even though I've redone it 10 times.
May have to edit when I'm done with the pox thread.
By any chance do you have a widescreen monitor? I had the same problem but it turned out when I had copied and paste the information to add to the shortcut -CustomResolution:enabled -r1680x1050x32 -f -intro:off I also accidentally paste something to the effect of -software:on and had to remove that part. It may not be the problem but just in case you did what I did.
no wide screen. I couldn't get it to change back, so I just did a full re-install. I've been reading like crazy and am playing differently this time around. I did have some pretty cities though.
