Title: Help with diagonal fillers
Post by: Sorengaard on October 07, 2008, 02:00:32 AM
Hi.  Is there a tutorial or help of some kind that would show how to make diagonal fillers for roads and such?  I have downloaded a lot that does it but not really the way I would like and when I look at it in the LE I haven't the faintest idea of how it works and therefore how to "tweak" it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Which lot did you download for this purpuse? T Wrecks made a nice set of diagonal filler lots, they are available at the LEX as well: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1197 Please refer to the readme file for placing them properly.

These are exactly the fillers I was referring to.  What I was wondering is how they were made?  If there is a help guide of some kind?  By looking at them in LE I can't figure out how they were done?  I am new to all of this so it may be way over my head at this stage anyway.  I was just curious. Thanks

Well, basically they use a triangular shaped overlay texture (included in the SFBT Essentials), so one half still shows the base texture, while the other half is showing said overlay texture. The alignment props (also included in the essentials) will help you to align the lots properly (in most cases, the orange bar that appears in the lot preview has to be aligned with the diagonal road).
