Great! (will release that semi-diagonal road???) ;)

A Taco Bell! Yay! I love Taco Bell.

That KFC looks pretty good too, ignoring the lot, but the sign has one glaring problem... you can see the texture on the top and sides of it. I'm not actually sure if there's anything you can do about that in gmax, so I usually stick a very thin (like only extruded .3 m) box along each side of the sign you don't want to be textured, and give it it's own texture. I just reread the thread and noticed it says "Relotting." Oops, nevermind!

Fatsuhono: Thanks! I didn't make those, dedgren did.
deathtopumpkins: Thanks!

A little update on the Taco Bell...

Ah, the new lots looks very nice! Of course, the red brick looks amazing. Maybe to TE the parking lots? :satisfied:

Oh much much better! That lot's looking great.

And I agree with Fatushono, TE'ing the parking lot would be a cool idea.

Fatsuhono: Thanks! You'll see...
deathtopumpkins: Thanks! You'll see...
papab2000: Thanks!

Well, I finnaly got my SC4Tool to work on Vista so that means I don't have to transfer my lots to my XP just to TE them and that means...

A new teaser!

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi291.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fll316%2Fun1_2008%2FUDP%2FTEteasers.jpg&hash=98279d0bb498e39abb1b2f84fc325fa9b94d3338) (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll316/un1_2008/UDP/TEteasers.jpg)

(As you can see, the parking lots are TE'd)

I still have to work on the Canadian Tire though... Really fixing the lights. :P

Enjoy,

If you are making growables, don't make them TE as they will never upgrade.

not that bad there un1 but one suggestion is to make the back portion of the canadian tire more assecable to the parking lot... you allready said you was going to work the parking lot lights, good cause I think SG or even XD's parking lot lights would work alot better here honestly...  Cant wait to see further devolpment...

Lovely new idea. But, off topic, I think it would be cool if you just the post images, not have to click on them, because that is an un-necessary hassle. $%Grinno$%

Why you don't have any shadows in your pics ? that made them pretty flat

Excellent detail work on the Canadian Tire, The Costco truck unloading in the back is a nice touch. I for one love to see this Canuck stuff, If non Canadians only knew the power of the DarkSide....I mean Tim Hortons they would be shocked.

That's because he has shadows set to low in the graphics options, just like I do since shadows make my game more unplayable than it already is! :angrymore:

BTW, the lots look good. I don't know of many auto stores with sandstone front walkways, but it's a good contrast with the rest of the building. I think the colors aren't that great on the buildings your lotting, but there's no way to fix that now. &mmm

BarbyW: I wondered why when I went to TE them it had a red x.
Pat: Thanks for the suggestions, I'll put them to use.
Fatsuhono: Thanks, I know that the rules allow 1024x768 picture sizes but I don't know what they think of it.
wishfulanthony: Thanks!
wouanagaine: There is no shadows because I have the shadows off.
Dark_horse_spirit: Thanks! Oh, don't worrie... More Canadian stuff is coming. ;)
wes.janson: Gah, they do work. :P
sim-al2: Thanks! Also, there are a few stores where I live that have Sandstone for there walkways (one of them happens to be a Taco Time (Taco Time = A store that sells tacos in Thunder Bay) ), that would include the mall here. Also, these aren't my BATs as I mentioned.

New project (A simple one), Clean Air Ordinance Mod!

What it does is it mods the ordinance "Clean Air". I know tonnes of people have done this but this includes 7 .dats that mod it to a level.

(Low for example is "Low difference from the old one")

Extremely Low
Very Low
Low
Medium
High
Very High
Extremely High

This here is the examplar for the "Medium edit".

The only thing I need to do is wait for Andreas to write the installer tutorial so I can make the installer for it....

I'm not a huge fan of large buildings and cluttered space, I would say that all buildings with flat roofs have abnormal amounts of crap placed on them. This makes a good model even better, prop roof crap.

deathtopumpkins: Thanks and done.

Just a little something I made...

Click here to see the picture! (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll316/un1_2008/UDP/Farms.jpg)

2 things I need to finish though.... I need to fix the horses, they are going all over and I need to remove a corn silo that doesn't match the farm it self...

But as you can see, I redid the Maxis farms... Although they are maxis buildings, the Maxis Blocker doesn't block them...

Title: Re: un1's Other Creations

un, nice farms! Though any possibility of giving them custom fields (i.e. SG's, CSX, etc.)?
And the Maxis blocker only blocks Maxis lots, not buildings, which explains the fact that they don't get blocked.
Title: Re: un1's Other Creations
Post by: un1 on November 07, 2008, 06:25:55 PM
deathtopumpkins: I know that.  $%Grinno$% Yeah, I was thinking that, but I don't know the farm lots code for them... (Maybe RippleJet could tell me  :P)

Well, here are some more relots... Just of various lots for the AFDES summits...

This one is no where to being complete but it seems that it will be the hotel. (Wilmignton Condos)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi291.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fll316%2Fun1_2008%2FUDP%2FHotel1.jpg&hash=8506c406e00507d33c71ae31cc4cfd0ba0c00121) (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll316/un1_2008/UDP/Hotel1.jpg)

This one is close to being complete as the actually summit spot... But I think it might be to big. (QuiTao Building)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi291.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fll316%2Fun1_2008%2FUDP%2FSummit1.jpg&hash=ddc23758c5ee8c05cf977bbec4c124531093e4f7) (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll316/un1_2008/UDP/Summit1.jpg)

These ones are far from being complete, and I fogot to change the base textures on one of them... The Summit Park Fillers
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi291.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fll316%2Fun1_2008%2FUDP%2FParks1.jpg&hash=3c430c44bdf2308bf05f726a2cfad5abf6d9d1de) (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll316/un1_2008/UDP/Parks1.jpg)

I really like that QuiTao Building... I think that'd be great to use even outside of AFDES summit complexes!

And the little plaza-thing outside of the hotel building's a nice touch.

Did you make those filler parks? Those are great! They'll be popping up in VS when released...

Oh, and, about the farms, I don't either!  $%Grinno$% Never made a custom farm lot myself...

sim-Al2: Thanks.
deathtopumpkins I am using a red brick texture from the BSC Mega Textures Pack Vol 2.

Here is the packaging...
They break the SC4D rules so I will link them to you.  "$Deal"$

These do indeed look very nice... I really like what you've done here.   &apls

Have you considered a single large lot version where the buildings face each other across a pedestrian walkway?  I can picture the same set up you have now with another row of buildings where the road is in your picture... almost as if they tore up the street and just turned it into a walking plaza of sorts.

un1,

Very good work, and i really like the work you have began on that project which included those small lots, we need more of those in the game. I just wanted to know what kind of tress you use for the small parks, which btw, look great too! Keep it coming un1!

Nice work un1, and I agree with JBSimio. If you could manage a lot with a 'ped mall' down the center that would look pretty darn neat, but then that would leave the matter of what to do with the backs of the buildings. Either way, it looks pretty good.

starrdarcy: Thanks for your comments. I mostly use D66's, sometimes I will use one that jestarr made.
threestooges: Thanks! ;D I was thinking a row of trees to cover most of the backside.

Since I am making the readme for those lots, I stated a new project.
It is called,
               Custom Port Fillers

Are you tired of having extra spaces in your port, and you don't want to fill them in with Industrial zoning?
These are right for you. ;D What they are, is lots that look like they are industrial, but they truly aren't. Another thing is they have no jobs so they are road dependant.
Here is some pictures,

Neat idea!
May I suggest that you use prop families as much as you can, in order to give the lots even more variations.

He already has a prop family range
I agree with Tage that these look neat. They would also look good with some with waterfront props - marrast embankments like the ones I made for example. The only thing I am not sure about is the lamppost prop you have chosen. You might be better using the $streetlights for a port/industrial area instead of the commercial style ones.

Title: Re: un1's Lots and Mods - Back After Long Break
Post by: CasperVg on December 21, 2008, 10:02:41 AM
Hmm, I think you should add more lights, some cars and other props on the parking lot and probably a different base texture for it...  ::)

My only real criticism would be that the light green truck should not really be actually halfway parked into the shed, and should probably be removed altogether, since it would not have had any chance to manoeuvre into that position, except perhaps if the sugar bags would not have been placed back when it parked there.

I would either suggest to get rid of the extra tiles at the front, or have them have an industrial function of some sort (more clutter, storage, bags, concrete base texture), since it would be rare that about 1.280 m2 would be used as plain ground in an industrial area like that, except if the company is planning to expand soon.

Seems like a great lot tho!

Great lots, I'm sure once you get the frieght station finished  it will be ust as great as the others.

I have a suggestion, maybe after the frieght station you could make an STR station?

actually there is STR texures but the matter of pathing for being TE'ed is a differnt story... Now on the other hand leaving the tracks out of the equation would work wonders so then the end user can use the station on STR Line  ;)
Title: Re: un1's Lots and Mods - Freight Rail Station
Post by: un1 on December 22, 2008, 08:12:03 AM
Just going to add my opinion...

TE'd lots aren't liked by the name team, so TEing a NAM network (or a custom one, like the RHW) isn't not wanted. So I am just going to leave the track section out of the picture. As for pathing TE'd lots, it is kind of simple. I know that Tarkus taught me how to do it with the RHW, but since the RHW is different from a modding point of view (different network) than the STR.

The STR is a  overlying network like the HSR and the RHW (but the RHW is an overlying network of an unfinished network). Since there is a draggable rail tool, the STR should be able to go through it too, unless the RULs weren't changed too much.

So, I have no clue what to do..  :P

We(mainly JPlumbley ;)) don't like TE used wrongly, ie not toll booths or stations.

Your right TEing for RHW is different to STR, but STR would be simpler because the is the base network(Rail) programmed into the SC4Tool.

Download this (http://www.mediafire.com/file/mwmnxhyhgmn/STR%20overlay%20textures%20and%20paths%20for%20lots.zip) , dat containing lot paths and textures for the lot and put it in your plugins folder.
Using SC4Tool simply TE the lot for normal rail and switch to Expert mode, right click the tile, and select "edit reps(expert)" in the rep 16 box type "0x5d300000" for orthogonal, and "0x5d302000" for diagonal.

Save and your done.

Thanks warrior, it works!  &apls

Anyways, I have only completed one train station so far, it is the freight station one I finished today, just with a one track version.

I will make a passenger version of it though, eventually.  :P

Just if you are wondering, I am going to fill that empty section next to the track.

Now I am wondering if dedgren could send the stations to all of the STR beta testers so they can be tested too.

Nice little station you have here!
I have just one thing to say: it would be nice if the single track would split up in two or three at the station and then one or two rail wagons standing on it.

11 hour bump.  &mmm
Well this is what I did in the past 11 hours..  :P

Anyways, my current project is an industrial pack containing 5 growable I-M and 1 plopable functional landmark.

Here are some pictures of it,
Day.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi291.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fll316%2Fun1_2008%2FUDP%2FIndPack1Day.jpg&hash=cb7ee72be4b782b0fc4f7c09c5db8fe6066431d5)

Night.

Now you might be wondering why there is numbers on the picture.
Well it is for the vote of what I should make as the plopable one, because I can't decide.

1) Brewery
2) Brick Factory
3) Brick Warehouse
4) Pencil Factory
5) Drywall Factory

So on the poll on the top of the page, please vote!

(And yes those are seasonal trees)

EDIT: Poll deleted, results:
Total: 6
Drywall Factory: 3
Brewery: 1
All Industries: 2

Enjoy,
