In this thread I will show my work on w2w buildings from Copenhagen and Roskilde. Maybe other cities as well.
Have started working on another project, this time a w2w from Roskilde:

Here is a picture of the RL building from my hometown, Roskilde:

&apls &apls Excellent work vester . Do you have any idea if you think to bat a kind of set of these ? Just curious because they are wow.
Have planed to do a few other buildings. One smaller one, that could go next to it. One that don't hide the mural on the end wall. A few buildings to go into the backyards.
Beside that, I have an eye on a corner buildings just on the other side of this one (the RL one).
After that I would probably make some from Copenhagen. There is a few in this picture:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg101.imageshack.us%2Fimg101%2F7505%2F7234331tg4.jpg&hash=2e286c97296fab18e25fc0bd74ed3fbeca79846e) (http://www.panoramio.com/photo/7234331)
Can you spot any you like ? :P

Hmmm... how about the second one from the right on the fourth block there? :D
Definitely looking good, Vester!
I am ALWAYS in awe of your detailed skills...you can even see the clothing very clearly through the windows.

What you can't use from a picture !!! That is cut out of the picture of the RL building, placed on a plane behind the windows.
Here is a close up of the shops:

Here is a picture from main road (running from the lower left corner to the square) in the last picture in my previous post:

Coming along nicely. The iron grates on the upper floors look great!
Just a comment about that last photo of the Copenhagen streetscape, is that a protest on the left hand side? If so Danes have to be the most orderly people in the world. I don't know of many protests that proceed single file down a sidewalk on one side of the street!
Well, that is not my picture, but one I found on google maps (click on the picture).
It looks like one of those days where all the kinder garden kids gets together, see some theatre or something.
Enghave Plads (a square) is a good spot for that sort of things.
Here is one of my pictures:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FCopenhagenPictures%2FPB020763rs.jpg&hash=0de7bfa38a4d6e4da145edba86ba162bf250dbdb)
Taken in Saxogade (http://maps.google.dk/maps?f=q&hl=da&geocode=&q=Saxogade,+K%C3%B8benhavn&sll=55.66837,12.552449&sspn=0.002983,0.007339&ie=UTF8&ll=55.668176,12.551&spn=0.002983,0.007339&t=h&z=17), a side street to Istedgade.
Terrific BATting - as always! I do love the "Euro touch," and even though it differs from country to country, there's a common thread of history and architectural detail that's so appealing, more so since we have nothing like that here. We don't have murals either, so I consider you very fortunate for being surrounded by many levels of artwork as you go about your daily routine.
Later...
Joan
I like the way that it pretty much fits into most Northern European countries :)

Haha! You're right. In any event, it's a clever idea and adds a lot of realism.
WHOA, just stumbled on this and I absolutely love the buildings, and EXTREMELY excited to see future ones :)
Have been playing around with different volumes:

that's look good, very great work my fiend
Good to see some more Scandinavian BAT's being created! =)
Great work, loves it x
Excellent work here, I'm excited to see those Copenhagen buildings, I spent most of my summer (about 2 months) in Copenhagen (just north of it, in Lyngby, S train took me right into the city though in 10 minutes) and have become quite familiar with the city. Let me see if I can dig up some pictures
Detail! Detail! Amazing BATs!
(And what's with the kid climbing the wall? :D )

Shouldn't to do something with the DTU ?
I know the trip, its more like 15 minutes trip. I live in Lyngby, just next to Lyngby Sø and Bagsværd Sø.
Studying at DTU (Technological University of Denmark).
I live in Roskilde, about 25-30 minutes with train west of Copenhagen, around 30 km.
Yoman, pictures is always welcome, mostly as idea what to bat. Well also to see what people see when there here.
Nah, nothing to do with DTU, though I know the place, I know Lyngby Sø and Bagsværd Sø as well. Saw the Prime Minister's house, Marienborg, nearby as well (well at least the gate). I spent my summer there because my father is currently living in Lyngby, perfect opportunity to visit a place I've never been before. Took the opportunity to reach some other new places as well, such as Stockholm, Berlin, Hamburg. The train ride to Germany was particularly beautiful, traveling through southern Zealand, Falster, and Lolland, then a ferry to Germany. Had the opportunity to go to Roskilde rock festival as well, that was fun ;D
Transferring the pictures from the Camera to this computer now, I hope to have some nice ones for you

And of course the Opera House, but you knew about that one ;)
Yes I do recognize those houses, first one at Amager Torv (http://maps.google.dk/?ie=UTF8&ll=55.678737,12.580048&spn=0.001642,0.003422&t=h&z=18), the next one: Østergade (Strøget) / Bremerholm. (http://maps.google.dk/?ie=UTF8&ll=55.67985,12.582436&spn=0.001642,0.003422&t=h&z=18)
I lived next to Bagsværd Sø with a view over the lake from my room.
Yeah, that does make more sense, its been a few months since I took the photos though, so I was going on memory, which is clearly wrong :P
Wonderful project Arne! I can't wait to see some new progress. I really like the red bricks on the front, it fits the building very well
Thanks Merijn.
I have been working a little on this project, but work and a bad neck has been slowing down this project.
Have been out hunting ideas for it.
Will try to do a small package of provinces' buildings...
and then I will start batting some Copenhagen w2w.
....maybe even finish one or two of my unfinished project.
Amazing what you show here Arne. I hope that one day you'll have to time and spirit to continue with this project.
I'm dying for this building, its been so long since you posted an update, so I am requesting one. :P what is the status on this? its so magnificant!
Well, there hasn't been any real progress on this project. Not that I have given it up, just at a stand still.
Wow, how times fly.
Here been working on this project:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FW2W%2FAlgade20Roskilde%2FVolumes_S_v2.jpg&hash=4c884f7af726da5ba58fd3be7367f7a91e54ec1f)
The storage building on the back is done. Might work a bit more on the textures on it.
Still working on the building on the left front corner.
This might going to be a restaurant with service on the street side as well as in the yard.
Well lets see what time brings. At least I'm working on it again :P
Have been working on the details on the inn:

Looks good Arne, but maybe too good on the sides? Maybe dirty it up a bit. Add some vines?
Thanks Dita.

There is real lack of W2W buildings with brick facades (which are common in my area), so I'm glad you are doing this project!
That's indeed an awesome BAT. More Scandinavian BATs to the people!

Still working on finish of the different parts. Getting there:

Still have that do the shed in the back and maybe a wooden fence. Looking at the second picture, I might need to add some junk to the inside of that small building in the middle.
BTW: The hedges at the front is just for fun.
Stor!, I love Scandinavia and your BAT's &apls
- Giel :)
Looks great so far....and I like the hedges in the front, for fun or not. ;)
Robin &apls
Fantastic work &apls
This would be a great transition piece from suburbs to W2W buildings
Fabian :)
This is looking great Arne, nice to see you have picked up this project again. Nice looking details all over. I hope you will be considering making the different buildings as separate bats/props.
Oh, excuse me ;D But SC4 need too Scandinavia's BAT $%Grinno$%
Very good BAT, i like your work
I've been following your progress over the last few days, but was way too busy with preparing and translating the new NAM stuff, so I didn't have a chance to reply sooner... This is really some great work you're showing here; very nice models, excellent textures and quite a few interesting details. I like the mural in particular, very unique, and it adds a special atmosphere (and I love the night, so it's the proper topic for me!. :)
Thanks for your comments.

Yes I am going to make them into separate props.
Just placing them on one "lot" to get a feeling of how they work together.
Have started working on a new w2w. This time one from Copenhagen.
It's not one special building, but just inspired by the city.
Nothing to show yet.
Did a testlot to see how the buildings look in-game:

The lights in the building on the left, doesn't show up even the settings are on and there are night textures on the sc4model.
Bravo they offer a beautiful variety of architectural styles
Thanks Orange.

Start working on the back. The timber work takes a lot of time to do.
Great! But for my the color are too flashy ^^ and walls are too clean ^^ But it's a good BAT
Thanks manchou.
Don't worry about the texture. It's just a working texture.
Will dirt it up later on.
Hi Vester,
Great work on both the Roskilde and Copenhagen buildings. Having lived in Roskilde I do remember the actual building you're making and you certainly did a great job. I like the phototexture, it adds a lot of realism. Living in Copenhagen I hope you will release those new buildings one day :) I guess you only intend the woodwork to be showing on the backside of the buildings? I think that's a great idea to add some backyard feel to them.

Hi Vester,

Try to a walk down Christianshavn, down Overgaden Oven Vandet, to the block between Sofiegade and Store Søndervoldstrædet .
Walk into backyard you will see this woodwok that is only showing on the back. There should be other places around Copenhagen with this as well.
Have done mirrored version of the one in the post above:

Started to work on a corner w2w:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FW2W%2FCPH1%2FNyhavn3R02s.jpg&hash=171dbf692d6f617b25674be8f9cf35870b8f0841)
These "cut off" corner is seen all around Copenhagen. In the old days, they were introduced to make room for the fire engine to get around the corners in the narrow streets of the old city.

This time the front is more or less a copy of the real life house and the back, is inspired of what I can see from some aerial photos.
This house was build around 1729-32 after the great fire in 1728, that took out a third of the city.
Woow, finaly some good Scandinavian stuff :D.., realy like it :)
btw, 14th of June: Netherlands - Denmark
Giel
Really beautiful  &apls &apls
What's up with this project? I just discovered this and it looks very, very nice! :) &apls I could really use some more W2W:s and it's also nice to have some scandinavian stuff too! Waiting for this!
Have been working on a few other projecs: Eastgate Station / Østerport Station
(http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=11286.0) and Freeport Station / Frihavnen Station
(http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=11075.0)
Haven't given up on it, but will make a few more buildings first.
Wonderful buildings, indeed! It's so nice to see these buildings which will add a nice touch of Scandinavian architecture to our cities ()stsfd()

Awesome BAT vester &apls &apls
Very nice recreation. It's lovely to see more new classicist styled buildings from Copenhagen. Can't wait to see it finished &apls
By any chance, do you intend to recreate more of C.F. Hansen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Frederik_Hansen)'s buildings? I've always loved his buildings.
Have already done one: Christiansborg Slotskirke. Check my showcase, link in my sig.
Might do a few more. At least I borrow a couple of books about his works. (by Hakon Lund)
Any in particular you would like ?
Some really lovely buildings there Arne, the Tinghus? is a gem, but your corner buildings looks great as well. Especially like the blue colour there.

oh, that's embarrassing - I forgot about the church, though I actually have it.
If you want to continue on the same track, I'd like to see the church of Our Lady. Actually, I really like buildings in the area as well: the university, the law school, the old library etc. Alas, you're only one man ;)

the Tinghus?
Yes it's a Tinghus / Domhus / Courthouse: Copenhagen Court House (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copenhagen_Court_House)
Turtle: He did Vor Frue Kirke and the old Metropolitanskolen at the back of the chuch (corner of Fiolstrædet and Store Kannikestræde (http://maps.google.dk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=da&geocode=&q=Frue+plads,+k%C3%B8benhavn+k&sll=55.679484,12.572801&sspn=0.009679,0.025771&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Frue+Plads,+1166,+K%C3%B8benhavn&ll=55.679798,12.573016&spn=0.009679,0.025771&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=55.679839,12.573172&panoid=pItJZtGA88JSkJAWKtCduA&cbp=12,91.18,,0,11.07)).
He have also done the building between the chuch and Skindergade, towards Fiolstrædet (http://maps.google.dk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=da&geocode=&q=Frue+plads,+k%C3%B8benhavn+k&sll=55.679484,12.572801&sspn=0.009679,0.025771&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Frue+Plads,+1166,+K%C3%B8benhavn&t=h&layer=c&cbll=55.679114,12.573911&panoid=zNF6VKdQ8SIjPjlJen7lVQ&cbp=12,272.1,,0,-16.73&ll=55.678939,12.574067&spn=0.009679,0.025771&z=16).
Most of his works was builded in what now is Schleswig-Holstein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schleswig-Holstein), a lot in the city Altona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altona,_Hamburg).
Here is new rendering, this time of the alley on the left side:
