Title: Four lane divided avenue - Two lanes going one way and two the other
Post by: Sorengaard on November 17, 2008, 12:23:33 AM
Hi all,  I would like to build a four lane avenue downtown.  Two lanes going one way and two going the other with a divider in between.  The only way I can see to do this is to use two one way streets on one side of the divider and two one way streets on the other.  However is this just a waste of space since I assume only one of the one way streets will typically have the traffic and the other will be just idle. Traffic can't move from one to other I am assuming.  Am I in fact looking at this correctly or am I missing something? The forest for the trees so to speak.  Using two avenues will just split each half apart, having each street alternating which direction it is going.  Is there another way to build a four lane avenue as described above?  Any ideas would be appreciated?  Thanks one and all,  Steve

what you can do is the following

drag 2 avenues side by side
then choose the rail tool, and drag over the left side of the right avenue ( starting one tile before and ending one tile after the avenue ), do the same on the right side of the left avenue
then bulldoze the rails and build an avenue in the middle

Ascii art:
Step 1 : 2 avenues

just notice you want a divider, the above steps can be repeated to give the effect you want
Step 5 : drag rail over
