Title: SimGoober
Post by: Flash on December 29, 2008, 04:09:51 AM
Hello All,

I'm trying to get all the Files by SimGoober. However, is there a list of his files and where to get them without doubling up on files between the LEX and STEX?

I believe that everyone of SG's uploads are now on the LEX.....which will be alot of work to download.  Your other option is to donate the appropriate amount to recieve the SC4D DVD.  It has everything you'll need....all SG's stuff and all the depedencies to go with it.

Good luck either way.

That was my question,

STEx has been slow lately and I have everything from SG on the LEX. So, I wondered if there was anything left from the STEX that hadn't been converted.

There are some lots that have not yet been updated and posted to the LEX. These are in the queue to do and will be posted eventually.

Here are a couple animations of current projects.

Forgive the speed, it is completely off.  It worked alright when I made the animation, but once I saved it, it slowed to a stutter.  It is much smoother in game.

First the GooberGen Air Purification plant, already on the LEX..

And Ollies Oil Company, still in development...

i hope that my complaint doesn't cause too much trouble... but the oil rig looks like if it jumps between cycles.

I think the GIF image hasn't recorded the whole animation, probably to reduce the size of the file.

I'm glad to see your new works in a SC4D-LEX recently,
and Animated-Props looked so REAL and COOL !!  ;)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg523.imageshack.us%2Fimg523%2F1994%2Fanimation1eh8.gif&hash=fa4c28e1a870cfcde5864bd0a204c9ef9aa3f6f0) (http://imageshack.us)

When we can make them easily, we can get big possibility of the Next Stage in BATing.

Mas,

You don't need that "citroen" file. It's a false dependency. ;)

Masuda-san - you do not need 4, 6 or 7 but you do need the MTP SUPER Pak for the base textures.
6. SG_Prop_CoolingTower03_0x7650E986_0x861A0000.dat is in SG_ANP_CoolingTower.Dat

-- No Dependencies --
4. BSC MEGA Props SG Vol01

I used SC4Tool as well, Masuda-san. The LD file that shows in Reader is often incorrect and does not show textures so SC4Tool is vital.

Whoops. Sorry, I thought I fixed those dependencies.  I was having difficulty with SC4Tool for a bit (I'm on Vista.. Vista no like Wous tools much)  The PEG one I gforgot about; I need to move that file out of plugins folder.  His textures are fine, but there are similar ones in the BSC packs I could use, and that will reduce the number of dependency files.

Also, I posted in the wrong thread... No wonder I couldn't find it when I hit the button.. lol

And yep, when I recorded the animations they got messed up a bit... Now back to my "other" thread...

Hi SG,

Quick question for a new guy:

For your hotel lots, are they all "growable?"  or can they be plopped?  I currently have all of the Models and Lots.dat files in my plugin directory, and used Cleanitol to clean out old files per package instructions.  I just can't seem to find the hotels  :)

Regards and great work!

The ploppable hotels are in the pack of Simgoober Commercial Ploppable lots with jobs (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1184)

So I was just going through all these mega packs of SimGoober projects, and wondering... will they be updated once a bunch of new models find their way onto the LEX? It seems a shame to have one download that gives you ALL of SimGoobers wonderful hotels, or offices, EXCEPT for the most recent ones... or perhaps since it seems SimGoober is releasing things a bit less frequently, there might be a yearly pack of all his stuff?

Regardless, I find the SG megapacks to be immensely helpful. Thanks to everyone involved!

Updated? no... but maybe someday I may release new ones.  Hadn't really thought about it to be honest.

I just found this site about a week ago. A friend of mine told me to check you guys out and boy I'm glad I did. My cities look much cooler and my transporation systems are a lot more functional and flexible now.

When I first tried downloading something, I got intimidated real quick by all this stuff about dependencies and LEX and STEX and BAT and omg ()what()  :angrymore:
But searching your forum I found all the answers I needed. Even the crash to desktop issue I was having. Such a simple solution :)

I posted this in your thread SB cuz I wanted to give you a super huge thank you. I love your sets and the humour you apply to some of them.  &apls
My Sim cities are now SimGoober cities  with extra thanks to the NAM and CAM teams

Actually, a super huge  to all of you for your beautiful work and for making it easy to find answers to issues that come up. The CAMelots thread that links all the lots and BATs is a Godsend. ()stsfd()
