I see these cities posted up on these forums that look amazing because they are well planned out and seem to be designed perfectly. Nothing seems to be abandoned and everything just works. I want to try to specifically design every aspect of my city. Are there any guides to making such cities or anything that could help me?

Well, if you show us with photos what are you meaning... maybe I can help. Because I have some tips to make your city looks natural, but also planned enough. I don't know about you, but a "square-city" is extremely boring for me.
