Title: totally noob question...
Post by: phillosopherp on February 08, 2009, 09:04:49 PM
... but one that I have totally never been able to figure out. What does it mean when someone says that a lot only grow in a certain tile set i.e. Euro. I have never experienced something not growing that I have dled, so I just don't get it.

Phillo,

That statement means that if you do not have the Euro tile set selected in the Building Styles panel, it will not grow. Some people set their creations to grow in a specific tile set. Many European users set their cities to only use the Euro tile set to get European looking cities. Most custom content Residential and Commercial buildings are set to all 4 tile sets. Some aren't which is why the author indicated that the particular building will only grow in the Euro tileset.

The Building Styles panel is a means of controlling what appears in your cities. By turning off a specific tile set, buildings associated to that tile set will not grow. FYI, industrial buildings do not have tile sets.

Thanks... I didn't even know that there was a tile set option in game. Of course after reading this I looked at it and have always had them all selected. At least I know that I might have something different now. Of course I always play like I am building cities in the US especially west coast, and here in the west we like to copy everything in our buildings so it never seemed weird to have a Victorian next to an Art Deco, but I might just move to a all Euro city at some point. Thanks!
