Title: Getting Ready to play
Post by: BarbyW on March 07, 2009, 12:21:25 AM
To make things easier for everyone to follow how the challenges work we have suggested a separate board for each player. To use this you will need to make a new topic for each challenge and post your images and storyline in it.
This is my initial set up showing how I have rendered the map in SC4 and named all my cities. I have done nothing else at this stage - no trees etc.

Your rockmod and water colour look great Barby. This will be a nice and colourful region.

Thanks, Fred. I am using cycledogg's Meadowshire Terrain and his Italia Tree controller with a water mod made by jestarr and Orang_o_ Aubrac Rock texture. I tend place my trees as and when needed as I find that too many can slow down the game.

As mightygoose has posted pictures from GRV 1 I am also going to post some of my favourites from last year.

Yeah, I remember that shot from the Erik's Landing Peninsula with all the details, trails, rocks and even a whale. That is when I learned about these trail props, which I use now also.
That harbour also amazed a lot of folks, changing the picture during its construction. Just great.

I changed my mind about the terrain and beachmods as I didn't like the default Maxis beaches - far too tropical for a Northern girl like me.
I have changed for:
CP ColumbusBeach
CP No5 RockTextures Olympic
CP Italia Terrain
The tree controller, Rock and water mods remain unchanged.
Here is the revised region with some more trees added but not as many as the others have added.
For information I use Warrior's God Mode Terraforming Mod so I don't have to use CTRL+ALT+Shift+X to get to the god mode trees.
