Title: TheTeaCat's GRV II Bits and Bobs
Post by: TheTeaCat on March 11, 2009, 02:40:34 PM
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi513.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft331%2FTearider%2FGRVIIBanner.jpg&hash=f746f2075a64c8781ffa41986f1b19b1a1fceece)

Here's my start for getting ready to play GRV II
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi513.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft331%2FTearider%2FBordertown-GRVII-Challengejpeg.jpg&hash=628240fc07dcd1ead020927c3f5c3ede4b822014)

For my challenge I am using the following
           - OlympicBeach
           - Grassy Rock mod ( can't remember where I got this ::) )
           - Meadowshire Coast tree controller
           - Little Missouri water mod.
           - Gizmo's underwater flora ( gives that sandy appearance on the sea floor )
           - peg (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=7066.0)-MTP_TerrainMod_1 ( this may change but probably not)

And here's a closer view so you can see how it all blends together ;D
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi513.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft331%2FTearider%2F03-11-2009_18-34-29.jpg&hash=53874114395d18da162636476c65ddff2581d228)

Now to sort out my plugins folder ::)

Well now the game is on :D :D

The build up has been worth it I think and I hope everyone can enjoy themselves playing/watching/commenting.

Been messing about in tile (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi513.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft331%2FTearider%2Fth_City-Highfield.jpg&hash=4f7cd7fa0bed0e9fd72921d2f92ee66297f6d88c) (http://s513.photobucket.com/albums/t331/Tearider/?action=view&current=City-Highfield.jpg) not much to show at the mo. well, your rock mod is fantastic now we see it from a bit closer, the path is very well executed although it looks overly steep in one or two places (even for a mountain path) although that could be the perspective. all in all great work. the game is indeed on  ;D ;)
Title: Re: TheTeaCat's GRV II Bits and Bobs
Post by: newsimaddict on March 17, 2009, 05:07:29 PM
Nice mountain path! The small rocks blend so well with the rock mod you're using, it's quite a strong contrast against the path colour.

Hope your St Pat's went well!

Post by: TheTeaCat on March 17, 2009, 05:22:52 PM
To be honest its not a mountain path but just a little trail to to top of the hill. well to the top of the highest point
in tile H.

THe plains show 253.3m on the terrain query and the top of that hill is only 341.8m.
So I'd say a hard walk to get to the top but the best views around for miles
The perspective makes it look worse than it is $%Grinno$%

Very good use of Chris' ploppable flora, farmfields borders look very natural, I can see only one or two places with "SC4" lot edges (the end of dirty road on the second and third picture). The rest is perfect

That's some fantastic work, Derry!  The attention to detail(s) is some of the best that I've ever seen.

On a side note, there are two farms (surrounded by cornfields) right in the center of your mosiac that I've never seen before, and I'm curious where you got them.

Thank you Adam.
Not to much PS done lowered the saturation by .15, the brightness by.10 and raised the contrast by .10 thats all. gives a nice effect though. Oh yes I changed the angle of the sun too  :D :D a small personal mod. ()stsfd() I raised it by 50 so it gives a slightly smaller and and more defined shadow. Glad you were the one to notice it &apls &apls

"That picture looks just like my game" is probably because all the farms in the mosaic are lots and bats done by you :D :D :D

I like the rail yard in the fourth picture from the top. Let's see ... 10:30pm here ... I'm off to fire up the LE.

Nice pictures all - except for the one where 6 of my bank buildings grew up in a row  ()sad()   ::)

Cheers Jim and Pat

Pat those "construction sites" are reward placeholders (used in a lateral thinking way and with my twisted brain  ::) they fit the plan perfectly)

Thanks Jim glad you like the pics and JFMyers Banking Corp must be the only financial institution  doing well
in Border town. ( or else they escaped my eye and would have the 'dozer pass by.)

Anyhow here's a little animee showing the region as it grows from a population of 25,000 to 131,000
We pick the animation up at a population level just a little under 50,000
