Just to say that I had almost none terraforming for the mending rails in the mountains, too bad I had to go thru 6 tiles for rails as it makes the rail lines a bit ackward.

I played around with running the rails in the mountain like you did. You did it a lot better than my playing around with it.

Sorry for being late, but I honestly missed your posting, thanks for sending me a Pm to remind me.

Now that you posted your pictures, you are not allowed to change anything anymore. We made copies and judge the originals only.

We also will not make any comments in this thread besides the judging once it is finished by Wednesday next week, but we will make useful and friendly comments in your regular thread of GRV. Points will be given 3 to 4 days after the challenge is finished and will be posted in the Pointage Sheet.
Also your points only together with an explanation and comments why we gave you these points, will be posted here at the end of this challenge. Good luck.

You can start playing and build whatever you want in either tile B,E or H, but only in one of them.

First of all let us congratulate You. You have made it through the first Mayor's test.
On the picture below, circles with letters will indicate what was important in your region for this challenge. If we say we don't like or we like, it doesn't mean that it's the same for others. We are judging to our lknowledge and what would be the most logical thing to do in our opinion, remember this.

A.  Very good idea to cross the river here.
B.  Having built 3 bridges more than were necessary was not a good idea at all. Bridges are expensive and cost a lot to maintain. Better choices were available.
C.  Although mountains are expensive to build on, you chose to do it but stayed more or less on the bottom part of the foothills which makes it acceptable. So it is a fairly good idea to have it built there.
D.  Again a good choice for a bridge.
E. Very nicely done in this part by following the river, something we often see irl, because the terrain is just about the right levels for rail building.

Although you have built too many bridges on these two islands, we decided you to give you 7 points because of the rails and roads had their shortest ways and building along the river and the genious contouring in tile B of the rails. Congratulations and good luck with the next challenge.

Lynn and Fred
