Title: Region view graphic glitch
Post by: Toichus Maximus on March 30, 2009, 10:00:57 AM
Hey, has anyone experienced this/does anyone know what to do? I have no idea what caused it, it was intermittent for a while and it always happens now. Note, this is not just the region census tool, it looks like this in game too.

Any help would be great.

I believe Haljackey ran into the same thing some time ago as well--as I recall, it may be a side-effect of using a very high resolution.

If you can offer it, I think someone found that with 4GB of RAM, the bug doesn't occurs in high resolution :)

i think that is not correct, i have the bug on my laptop and main pc at high resolution, bot machines are using 4GB of RAM, the laptop has 64bit, the pc 32bit windows. Bug still exists on high resolution, i don't have a sollution

IIRC, that happens when using a widescreen monitor. Since a while, I have one as well, but I added a custom resolution command to the SC4 shortcut, and I don't get those stripes. Maybe you set a resolution that is not supported by your graphics card? I noticed that you can set any resolution, but the game will only start with the next "matching" one (i. e. if you set 1700x1100, the game will accept it, but start with 1680x1050, as this is a common resolution for 22" screens). This is esp. true for window mode, although a window usually can have any size in Windows. The SC4 window is fixed, though, once you set your preferred resolution.
