Hi folks,
I'm trying to make an alternate lot for vester's Christiansborg Castle Church for my own use, intended to have all the same stats as the original lot but not be a reward, but I have a problem. To get around the issue of not being able to "save as" the original lot, I copied the original SC4Lot file to a different folder within my plugins. When I saved the new version of the lot, I renamed the file but kept the hex code at the end of the filename the same. I haven't modded the new lot at all in the Reader. At present, the new lot doesn't show up in any of the menus in-game, though the original lot does. Is there something special I have to do to make both lots available in-game? Is this even possible? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
The lot filename has no effect in the game. If you open 2 instances of Reader and open one of the lots in each,
you will see that all values are the same. The game only sees one of them.
To modify the lot in LE, open it in Reader and change the "Conditional Building" value from 0x01 (true) to 0x00 (false).
You can then do a "Save As" in LE and mod as required in Reader.
I see. I knew to change the value for Conditional Building, but I didn't know that that would allow me to "save as" in LE. Thanks!
Actually, if you change that property, and "save" you will have, in effect, converted the existing lot into a non-reward, and everything else will remain the same. If you want to be tidy, then remove the LUA file, as it defines the Reward requirements, and will no longer be necessary.
That's what I thought. Thanks for the tip about the LUA file! I'll be sure to do that in the future.
Sorry, I didn't realise you just wanted to make it non-reward, just ignore all my references to LE. :)
