Title: Extra automatas for H.S.R.
Post by: Terring7 on May 10, 2009, 07:00:18 AM
Hello :)

The High Speed Rail system is based on the monorail system, that's why you will see the same automata train in both rails. So i have an idea. How about H.S.R. stations with extra automatas, like SFBT Tram Stations? With this way you will have this train for the monorail system:

and this train (an example) for the high speed rail system:

at the same time and the same city! &dance

Unfortunately, this doesn't work, because the automata that is generated by a station is only a single unit, rather than the engine and matching cars that are necessary to form a train. The game simply doesn't support something like this, although it is possible to add other automata models.

In that case, how about a one-piece high speed train like TSC TER Train? &smrt

I always asked myself how that one looks in curves...

Unrealistic ;D . I have this train and it looks a bit unrealistic in curves &smrt

It is much better on the HSR curves, seeing as they much smoother, but still it could do with being shortened. Also it might be more realisitic in the future, having lots of short (more PRT-ish) trains seems to be the way to go.

I have seen a bus made by Olasz can turn in to curves separated....
so can we use this method on train ?

No, we can't. That bus is designed much like the Maxis semi trucks, where there is a lead vehicle and a trailer (orr several trailers). The coding for a trailer vehicle only works on road-based networks: street, road, one-way road, avenue, elevated/ground highway, RHW. It has been attempted to use the trailer coding with trains, but it does not work. This is a limitation of the EXE.

I have never seen this bendy-bus by olasz, where can it be found? What I would like would be a TGV made as a monorail/HSR skin. I know it has been made as a normal/heavy rail skin, so perhaps some-one in the know could convert it.
