I was going through an old disk checking to see what was on it and came across some old pics I'd taken
They were ones I had taken a long time ago and the quality not all that great but I thought I'd share them with you.
They are all of Cork City which was only 5 miles from where I grew up and I know it like the back of my hand :)
So stick the kettle on, have a cuppa and enjoy this little show

Hope you all enjoyed your little trip to Cork in the Emerald Isle

TTC
Thanks, TTC. That took me back to the visits I made there when I was working for RSA in Ireland. Cork is a vibrant and lovely city with lots of sessions in the different bars. I took my bodhran - and no I don't play it with a knife - the second and subsequent visit and had some excellent sessions. I was also extremely envious of the English Market as we had nothing like that in Co Mayo.
Thanks again.
My Pleasure Barby.
A bodhran player too :o many hidden talents you have and I'm so glad you don't play with a knife $%Grinno$%
Yes the English Market is just a wonderful collection of sights, sounds and smells. There is always so much going on there and you can get to sample the produce before you buy. If you do it right you can have lunch for free :D :D
Its one of my favourite places in Cork and hope that the developers never manage to get their grubby hands on the site.
It would be a sad day to see such a vital part of Cork lost.
Glad I brought back some good memories ;D
regards
Derry
Interesting pictures. I have been to Cork during my Ireland roundtrip together with my brother. Actually we did not get into the city, though. &ops We stayed in a hotel outside of the center and preferred to make trips to the coast as we only had two days. But I am planning to do another trip to Ireland with my girlfriend. I must see Cork then.
I was in Cork, with my family, about 6 months ago. Unfortunately what I remember most of it is waiting in the terminal at Heathrow, just off the twelve hour Air New Zealand from Los Angeles, waiting for fog to lift so our Aer Lingus could get off the ground. We stayed at a lovely hotel out of the city (like RickD) and sort of bypassed it to see things in the surrounding area. From your pictures it looks like we should have given it more time. We really did a whistle stop of lots of places in Ireland and the UK, not really spending enough time in each, before shooting off through the Chunnel to Paris then Bordeaux and on to Madrid and Lisbon. I really liked Ireland as a country, as it and Scotland made me feel like I was home (my pigmentation would give you the strong sense that I am of Scottish/Celtic extraction). Driving in our little rented car around Dingle was really great and I thought that Dublin was another lovely city. I can't wait to get back to the British Isles.
The whole trip was what got me going back into SimCity for some reason.
Some great pictures in here, Derry! I glanced at these the other day, but now that I've had the chance to look a bit more closely I think you've just given me a couple new ideas! (Yeah... that's all I need!) Thank you for sharing them here.
