Title: multi-layered highway
Post by: Neofita on June 24, 2009, 12:26:44 PM
Is it possible to create a multi-Highway in NAM and transit enabled?

These are only 2 levels but I would like to build a similar highway in the city of Shanghai as a3 or 4 to 5 levels running through the city center

I remember Fukuda started to work on something like that a while back.

Made a quick search and I can't remember where it is.

Here it is, Robin! Double decker highway (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=132.0).

I've also experimented with a prototype Double-Decker RHW as well.  The main problem facing any sort of double-decker road/highway network is the fact that the game's capacity calculation works on a per-tile basis, so a double-decker network would effectively have the same capacity as a single-decker network.

I have actually come up with a possible workaround to this capacity issue, but it'll require some more experimentation before I can definitively tell whether or not it works.
