With the road pieces that contain the GLR in the road, is there a way to make neighbor connections that both the GLR and the road are connected to the neighbor?
The second question I had deals with water. I am making a region completely from scratch and was wondering what options I have for making the coast. Currently I am just plopping the different forms of 1 x 1 or 2 x 2 water pieces from different downloads but I was wondering if I could lower the terrain where I want the water to be and have the game water used so that I can build bridges and take advantage of water transportation. I cannot lower my terrain across the map because I have already developed the square.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
ot sure bout GLR but yes I beleive there is a modd on the STEX that does lower/raise water height. I believe it is called the water height modd.
On the first one, I don't believe you can use neighbor connections over water.
What you can do is make a tiny spot of land on the edge where you want to connect, then make the bridge ground. Do the same for the other tile, and make another 'bridge' to the mainland.
Sorry, I was not very clear. On the neighbor connection, it has nothing to do with water. It is just a straight land-to-land connection but I want to know if both transportation networks can be connected on a single square.
you mean GLR-in-road? If so, I don't think its possible. You'd have to transition to 2 tiles
EDIT: Or, if you wanted the connection to be one tile, and you had room elsewhere, you could always change the GLR to subway and put that under the road...
Neighborhood connections with puzzle pieces that contain more than one transit type are not possible, unfortunately. You can create connections with various other puzzle pieces, but the key to make those functional is their ability to plop on an existing, dragged network. For example, you can create a heavy rail viaduct connection by plopping the viaduct pieces onto a regular, dragged railway line, and you can connect your cities via CAN-AM by plopping the CAN-AM pieces onto a road that was dragged to the edge of the map. As I said before, this doesn't work with "double-decker" puzzle pieces, though.
This thread gives me an idea for a good puzzle piece: GLR in road transition to subway under road, which leads me to also GLR in road to EL-rail over road.
Thanks for the answers on the connections. It will not be too hard of a fix, I can just send the GLR to the side to connect the neighbors and bring it back onto the road on the other side.
For my water question, I was thinking maybe a picture would help spur some ideas. Here is how I am currently doing my coast:

What I would like to do is "dig" a trench to represent my coast and was wondering if I could fill it with the game water or if anyone had any other suggestions to make the water:

Ah! Now you made it a bit clearer! You can use Terisu's Rain mod on the STEX for that.

I was reading the file for Terisu's Rain mod and it said that the results only last for that game playing session, is there anything that is permanent?
No the water the rain mod makes isn't permanent but it's effects are. ie. if you build a bridge over the water created by the rain, the bride will remain only the water disappears. Very easily replaced by any number of ploppable waters. So you'll have water, just ploppable water under a bridge.
