Hi guys
I have recently purchased a new PC, reinstalled the game and transferred over all my plugins and regions.
Ever since, I've been having problems with industrial growth. This is an area grown on the old PC

The above pic was taken from the new machine. You can see a good variety of growth and a 3 x 2 lot regrowing.
However, development attempted on the new machine, same city and on the other side of the railway line, can
be best described as stunted.

Nothing but small 1 x 1 and 1 x 2 $$ filler lots will grow. There is certainly plenty of demand and I have no maxis blockers
or negative ordinances in place. Have bulldozed, dezoned and rezoned but no change.
Any ideas anyone?
Dave, try zoning Ind in one or more different city tiles - just as an experiment - and see if that helps. Maybe there's something about the map you new PC doesn't like. You're already aware of the problems I've encountered - things that are there but don't show up!
Just a thought...
Joan
Hi Joan
No luck I'm afraid. Tried different city tiles, different regions and even removed my plugin folder but no joy.
Got me beat ()sad()
Dave
Do the buildings appear from the building plop cheat? If so, then that might suggest that they just don't want to grow. If they don't appear... well that might suggest they're not being recognized by the game.
there's nothing like using god-mode trees to raise desirability :D (or parks for that matter)
But, I probably guess that you want I-D development... so hmm...
Can you check your water supply and pollution? It seems those other buildings growing on the north side are large enough to need a faucet and sink... but those smaller buildings in the south don't seem large enough to meet those same requirements. If you want higher I-M and I-HT development of course parks and trees are sort of needed as well...

Hi Allan, everything is connected, water etc so it's not the environment. In fact I followed what you said Matt and there are no Ind $ showing in the list. It would seem that they have definitely decided to take a break from the game $%Grinno$%
Am I right in saying that the maxis lots would be found in the following files:-
simcity_1.dat
simcity_2.dat
simcity_3.dat
simcity_4.dat
simcity_5.dat
Perhaps one of these is corrupt. Any ideas?
Dave
SimCity_1.dat contains all the exemplars for all the game files. The rest of the DATs contain models and images (UI graphics, PNGs, FSHs, etc.)
