Recently downloaded and installed the Lot Editor. However, when I go to run it, it doesn't work. The window for it pops up but the screen is black and I get a "Not Responding" error and then I have to manually close the program. I just purchased my computer this summer so it should be up to and well beyond spec. Any thoughts?
moin j3shafer,
don't worry, sometimes it just takes longer to load ... cause the more you got in your plugin folder the longer it takes for the LE to start ...
... that's my first guess!

Thanks...that appeared to be it. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.
try to emty out your plugin folder (unused files) or put only lots into it you really wanna work with ...
QuoteMy suggestion is to rename your main plugins folder to pluginsbackup, then create a new empty plugins folder. Add in only what you want to work with, then load lot editor. It will still take up to a minute to start up.
mentioned by RebaLynnTS in the thread "Lot Editor doesn't Respond"b_schlurf
rather than start a new thread I'll jump in on this one. My LE isn't working in my new setup. It was fine in windows XP but in windows 7 nothing...? While similar to the above the size of my plugin folder doesn't seem to be the culprit. So the window opens (black with a small white rectangle in the upper left corner + Simcity 4 Lot Editor 1.0.12.0 along the top) which quickly changes to grey (still with the white rectangle) before the windows dialog come up saying this program has stopped working. I have just a few of my own files in there, totaling 1.68 mb. Any ideas?
Do you have a Dual-Core? May LE didn't run with two core's and Windows 7. It's only an idea. &mmm
yeah I do. I didn't actually think of it being a windows 7 thing because the max PIM & BAT both work... (I thought it might be a directx issue, not that I know what that is exactly) The XP was/is on the same computer. I'll do some hunting for windows 7 LE specific help.
thanks.
I've found an older Post with a problem with LE and Windows 7:

May it's the solution...
thanks for that nekseb,
when I went searching I came across that article as well, and I have just confirmed it now, it works. I had the version that came with the BAT as well I guess, and though the version number is the same, when I installed the one from the EA support tab it hung with the black screen and white square for a couple of seconds and then the LE started up as per normal. Thanks again
