Title: LEX File: Update or Don't Update.. confused by how it works
Post by: SC4BOY on September 19, 2009, 03:17:34 PM
I now and then check the LEX "download history" just to see if I need to update/ replace various things that I have downloaded in the past. I am confused by how it works.. or maybe I'm just reading it wrong

When I look at the list, I note that there are "RED X's" My assumption is that this means I may need to update this file because it has been updated since I downloaded it. Note in the following:

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg10.imageshack.us%2Fimg10%2F1041%2Fupdateissue.jpg&hash=2f615ec41892171c82233a780aad6f11def704f3)

The red X says I should update, for example "CSX Mega Props Vol 2". However when I go to update the file, note that I downloaded it over a month AFTER it was last updated (I dl'd 9/19 while it was last updated 8/17). This would suggest to me that I already have the latest update. Do I or don't I? If I don't, why does it say I need to in the list. If I do why is the update date older than my last download?

Thanks.. and btw, this is an outstanding feature of the LEX.. everyone should check it now and then.

Take a look at where it says " you have downloaded this 1 time before ... last 2007/11/18" which is a long time before the update. I get confused by that sometimes too :)

If you look at the column suggested by turtle, you will see that you last downloaded the file on 2007/11/18 which is before I updated the file.

The "Last Download" to which you've drawn an arrow refers to the most recent time that anyone has downloaded the file.  The important one for you personally in this matter is the line which both Turtle and Barby have already mentioned.
