Hi,
I downloaded lots of bat, mod, industrial etc... but now, in the tree list I do have 20 pack of the CPT trees like 20 times the same juniper trees, logs etc. It is not a big deal excet that if I want to access other trees at the bottom of the list I have to go trough all the list which is the same 20 times over .... have I said twenty junipers???? :-[
Can anyone help me cleaning up my tree list?
For your information, I ran the cleanitol tools with almost everything I could find in the later threads and still have ... yup! you got it, 20 time the CPT trees list :D
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Read the readme again - it clearly states that you need to install only one tree controller at a time.
Hi Andreas,
thanks for your time but I must say you don't help me very much here. Which readme file? Which tree controller? How do I set this controller? How do I correct the situation?
I do not have your experience nor all the comprehension of the mecanics of the software and it is why I am here today with that question.
Please, could you be more specific or point me in the right direction to get the information I need?
Regards,
The trees are showing up most likely because you installed cycledoggs trees without reading the readme for it. If you look at the readme it will tell you that you can only install one of the controllers at a time. You need to be very careful when installing stuff, especially things like tree and terrain controllers and other mods.
Well, most likely, you installed one of Cycledogg's God Mode Tree Mods, which come with a variety of God Mode Tree Controllers. Those controllers also contain tree icons for the Mayor Mode tree menu. Since you have no clue where those icons came from, you clearly didn't read the readme file at all, since it contains a specific troubleshooting paragraph. The BSC downloads usually install all readme files into \My Documents\SimCity 4\LEX_Downloads, look for a "CP" or "CPT" folder and you should find the readme file inside.
Thanks very much, I do understand now what you meant.
The fact is, I installed hundreds of "addons" since I fist installed SimCity 4 and I am trying to understand all the bits of the software but with hundreds of installations you tend to skip the readme files unless there is a big WARNING sign on them which I must have missed concerning the tree controller.
I will review the readme files and see how to fix the problem which, I figure, is a matter of removing installed packages.
Thanks again for your time.
Regards,

Never skip the readme... Never. You will get all sorts of trouble if you do. Especially when it comes to dependencies and missing models etc.
I would have said: "...Especially when it comes to conflicts and imcompatibility."
Mate, read the readme of every major download you make (if its just a house or office BAT/lot, I suppose you could just skim read it). Very bad things can happen if you don't!
But, this problem of yours does have a simple solution, as has been said.
Good luck!
No need.. you guys always come to their rescue... ;)
