All pictures in this update (with the exception of the region shots of course) were taken in Tile F.
The business of business is business, and business is booming. The region has expanded mightily since its settlement, and as you can see from the following pics still has room to grow. In repsonse to this expected expansion, and to better serve the region and to connect it to the outside world, both a commercial airport and seaport have been constructed.

First up is the seaport:

As you can see, the area has developed primarily in response to the presense of the port. Most of the buildings here are sorting and storage warehouses where goods are prepared for shipping or processed through customs before being shipped out to the rest of the region. Much of the cargo comes in by freight and tavels through the railyard. If it needs to go to storage, it is unloaded here, otherwise it will be taken down to the port down the other branch of the yard.

Once the containers make their way down to the port, they are sorted, unloaded from their railcars, and stacked for loading

Finally it's loaded onto the ships, unless it's being unloaded, in which case, just view the previous pics in reverse.

Next up is the airport. With tensions being lowered, the need for a full scale air force base here was gone. This gave the regional government ample space to create an airport at minimal cost. While there is still a small detachment here that serves jointly with the aircraft carrier still stationed here, the airport is largely civilian now.

The terminal building now provides access to regional jets and propeller-driven planes. Plans are being considered to expand the terminal to permit large aircraft to be served, but for now, smaller passenger planes like DHC-8 Turboprops are the common sight on the runways. In response to the new airport, hotels have even begun to pop up nearby to provide accommodations for the weary traveller.

The former fighter jet hangars now house private planes owned by the locals.

The aforementioned Air Force detachment. Reduced is scale from its former size, but still nothing to mess with. Private planes here will be well defended should any one want to start something. Chances are slim that anything would happen though.

Every city has its issues, and this one is no different. An explosion rocked the seaport area the other day bringing fire fighters from two departments to quell the flames. The story behind the Acme Boiler Factory fire is an interesting one. It seems a coyote ended up plummeting through a skylight (don't ask how) knocking one of the workers over. He was welding at the time and the torch cut through the acetylene hose... all heck broke loose after that. Once trucks from the two departments arrived on the scene, the blaze was contained with minimal effort. The coyote was last seen charred, smoking, and stumbling a bit, but otherwise ok. He stumbled into the street and was struck by a RoadRunner Inc. truck bound for the desert further inland. When asked for comment, he held up a sign that merely said "It's a living."

A disaster straight from the road runner cartoon series. :D Thanks for the smile.
Good thinking. Convert the old airforce base to a commercial one.
I can see you have still a lot of room in your region but it looks good already. I like very much your train depot, so busy and real. Very good work on this. I see you have called the fire department, good thinking. :D

Lol. I love roadrunner and coyote! :)
