Chenango County, NY
Really, awesome start!!! Fantastic!!!
Excellent MD you've got here. I love the Alaska wilderness theme. Nice start.
Geoff
Very great start! &apls
Nice start!
Hi Jason.
What a great start for your MD. A lovely scenery and roughed at the same time.
The little town is looking great, and the shot with the water tower is a small gem.
I have one small comment about your creek, I think it would look more natural if you were to use some more variation on the banks. Now it almost looks like it has been dug out. Other than that it is an excellent start.
Very nice start &apls
Guillaume
That's a great start Jason! I like all photos, but the first one is really fantastic!
I will wait for more
Adam
Wow, really great start, Jason. You've built a nice little town, and you say that this will partially revolve around the nature?
This will be good...
Ethan
Impressive Start. &apls
The lake is just splendid and I really like the small village.
Bedside, your landscape is wonderfull.

Hello everyone! I thought I'd get back to you since you left such nice comments:

Tomas Neto: Thank you, my friend! I hope you enjoy my future entries.
calibanX: Thanks for visiting! Alaska is indeed a wonderful place.
Bobbi: Thank you! I hope to see you stopping again sometime.
976: Thanks for the compliment.
Kwakelaar: I appreciate readers who give such informative and helpful comments! I agree with you about the creeks. Does this look better?
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi394.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fpp21%2FAlbusofGaraway%2FShorelineexample.jpg&hash=6d5abfd3c9dedc9c0dfc852c20de3b0cbfe13c6a)
Look at the shoreline on the right. I think that would be a good basis for the rest of the shores except for a few select spots.
Sciurus: Thank you very much!
Ennedi: I had a fun time editing that first photo. :)
Earth Quake: Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad you're liking what you see.
A full update will be coming soon! Meanwhile, you can look at these pictures I took of the forthcoming Edgeville area.

Great start here! You've done some lovely work with the plopable water details in your second update! The bits and pieces take a lot of getting used to but you're already getting the hang of it from the looks of things!
I like the way you used those logging roads to that water tower in your first update as well. Looking forward to seeing what you've got for us next!
Nice start of a nice rura and hilly MD (sounds somehow familiar to me ...)
But while your flora looks nice in General I agree with Gjermund (Kwakelaar) that you need to improve the shores of your river and creeks - especially since I am aware that this is a really tough thing to do by my own experience - I began to become halfway satsisfied just recently after some months of work ...
Best thing is trying out anything you can get - all the RRP stuff, the new stuff from <Persona non grata> and play with it. Pebbel and gravel looks nice on most artificial changed shores, on natural shores use a lot of greenery and reed.
But most important - try and error, if you don't like do it again. Smaller "mistakes" and not so nice developed areas can be covered with trees, though, have a lot at the STEX and look for the SimFox trees.
Take care
Bernhard
Another fantastic rural area!!! Really awesome work!!!
You've developed quite a nice style there in building your water and shorelines. Edgeville is a great looking small town. I'm looking forward to watching it grow.
Geoff
That really is a fantastic rural town you've made, Jason.
The buildings grew really well, and the town looks beautiful, especially with the FAR road running through the middle.
Ethan
Already looking better, very nice progress.
Nice!
Wonderful start you've made. &apls &apls
I really like the rural areas in particular and it seems that you are definitely making good progress with
your shorelines
As Bernhard says, it is not easy and I should know ::) to get your shorelines looking good.
One click at a time is my advice :D and liberal use of the 'dozer for when you get it wrong.
But patience is the main thing. Just think how long it took mother nature to create it :D :D
looking forward to where you go with this ;)
:satisfied:

Hello, everyone! It's been quite a while since I've last posted. I've taken a leave from SimCity 4 over the past couple of months, but now I've returned.
Expect a new update in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, I found some letters in the mailbox today...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi394.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fpp21%2FAlbusofGaraway%2FThePostOffice.jpg&hash=356630a02333f07feb2b852f4a01381102ae5234)
Battlecat: I really love PEG's logging kit. It creates a very rustic feel.
Nardo69: Thanks for the tips! I hope I won't have lost the progress I made previously.
Tomas Neto: Thanks!
CalibanX: Thank you! Hopefully I'll see you around here again.
Ecoba: I usually make my buildings historical so that I can keep those great CP greek revival homes.
Kwakelaar: Thank you.
976: Thanks! Hope to see you here again.
TheTeaCat: That's some great advice, especially regarding mother nature. I don't think she had the bulldoze tool whenever she messed up. ;)
Again, be looking for an update sometime in the next two weeks!
COngratulations! This is a very promising start! And your second attempt of the shoreline is looking great!!
indeed a very promising start, i look forward to watching this.

As of today, this MD will now feature both Chenango County, NY, as well as Montoe, AK. For the next few weeks and months, Montoe will be put on the back burner while I keep my focus on the new Chenango County. If for some reason I never return to working on Montoe, I'll get rid of the work that is currently on the first page for organization's sake. But for now, it will remain.
Chenango County Update 1: An Introduction to Norwich
Chenango County is located in Central New York, and is right in the middle of true dairy country. Home to approximately 51,000 people, Chenango features rolling hills, beautiful creeks and streams, picturesque lakes, and so much more. Today, we take a look at the county seat of Norwich. Note: Sorry for the lack of in-progress pictures/captions today. I promise that next update will feature more of these! Thanks for bearing with me.

Next update, I'll put the finishing touches on some areas I'm currently working on, as well as begin construction on some dairy farms in the hills.
Until next time...!
Jason
Nice looking suburbs Jason. Nice work with the paths as well. Norwich is very deserving of the County Seat.
Geoff
That is quite a lot of forest! Nice! I also like the basketball and tennis courts in the park area ;D
Looks just like upstate NY in my opinion! Norwich looks really good.
That is a great looking suburb area! A beautiful green town with an amazing looking selection of buildings!
I like the suburb!
nice suburbs. I like how you extended the parking lot and the sidewalk on the city hall
Nice suburbs!!! Fantastic work on this city!!!
