I may as well be the first person to post here, here's my query:

I want to make an animated billboard in 3ds max for my model, but I don't know how. I have the .gif of the image I want to use on the billboard, but I have no idea on animating it in 3ds max.

How could I do this?

I am not sure if you can do that at all, but many people make the animations with PS and ilive.
