I have thought of this various times, but never can remember to post my question. I know we have been shown ways to assign keystrokes to "shortcuts" and I am curious if anyone has an idea on how to accomplish this:
After one is given the option of placing a "reward lot" I often have reason not to place it immediately.. perhaps I need to prepare a spot for it or whatever. I suspect that at the time it is placed in a "storage spot" of some sort. I am curious if a hotkey could somehow be assigned to this offered lot (ie if it is placed in a temp location by the game, it may be accessible)
Anyone know if this might be possible? I know we learn more and more about the mechanics of the game, and I've seen people post things that are close to this kind of task. Just wondered if anyone has thought of it?
I know this issue is a issue for everyone at one time or another, so I believe that if it could be explored it could be quite useful. It could also perhaps be used for repeated placing of MML lots that have just been used too. It's always a pain, especially for those of us who use a lot of specials, causing menues that are painfully long.. :)
Any thought on it?
I'm not really sure what you mean, but when a reward pops up, even if you don't accept it right away, it gets unlocked/visible on the rewards menu. &mmm
I'm not concerned about losing it.. I'm annoyed by the fact it's a pain in the *** to "go to" it. When it is offered, I'd like to do something like the following:
A. immediately after it's offered and before I do something else, hit a "hotkey" combo that I've set up that will query the game, say "Oh, the last offered reward was the university", and put that lot on a hotkey until it is reset at some future time.
B. If that doesn't do it, then actually "accept" it (it will then be "glued" onto the mouse pointer). At that point hit the hotkey combo. It runs and says "Oh, the university is stuck on the mouse pointer" so it sets the hotkey to "university" until it's cleared or reset.
I've used the university as an example, but of course I mean whatever reward was offered.
I also have not specified the hotkey.. It could be "stealing" a current hotkey combo that I never use (such as the police station .. forget what it is cntrl-P or something like that) and set it to be the "last reward" hotkey. Or set a new hotkey.. it could be that "inventing" new ones may not be doable because its in the .exe. In that case I'm perfectly happy to redefine one that is already there.
It's also perfectly ok that one hotkey "assigns" it and a different one is the "select/place" key
Once the lot is assigned, at any time until it is "not available" you can hit your hotkey combo and it puts the specified reward on the mouse or makes it readily available in some other way. Then you never have to scroll through dozens of lots to find the reward you are now ready to place
