Title: Cropping Irregular Sized Images PS
Post by: projectadam on January 10, 2010, 03:21:12 PM
Does anyone know a good way to crop irregular sized images in Photoshop? The image is pretty close to a parallelogram. I was thinking I could just use the square crop tool and drag the corners but it seems as if you cannot do this in Photoshop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Create a mask, perhaps?  I don't use PS, so I'm not familiar with its specific tools, but when I've wanted to lift out an irregular portion of an image in Paint Shop Pro, there's generally a mask that can be created that allows pretty fine manipulation of the "cut" or "copy" tools.

Why don't you post the original image as a PNG (so that we aren't having to deal with JPG artifacting at the borders of solid colors) and show us what you are trying to do?  There's probably a few folks here who would figure out something acceptable.
