Title: What is a Tree Controller?
Post by: Terring7 on January 12, 2010, 11:53:14 AM
Hello :)

Just a question. What exactly is a Tree Controller? It's a mod that replaces the Maxis trees with new one, or will add new trees for the God mode tree planting? If there are replacements, do I need to remove all the Maxis trees before I get one? ()what()

If I'm correct, it's something that can be compared with the NAM controller

It controls what trees are planted where, at what terrain height, on a north, south slope, level ground, and areas where there is ground moisture.

Generally CycleDog trees are the main component. Tree controllers try to simulate different areas. Such as the planting of trees that would grow in the Pacific Northwest, or the Badlands of the Dakota's.

Generally tree controllers are used in God Mode. You can still plant Maxis trees in Mayor Mode. Lots that have Maxis trees will still have those Maxis trees so a tree controller does not necessarily replace those. Although there is a mod that replaces the trees on all the lots too.
