Hi, I recently installed the Bsc No Maxis mod b/c I was sick of the sprawling houses and commercial lots but I want to keep the residential hi-rises.  I want to know if there is a way of customizing which Maxis buildings can grow and which that are blocked.

I downloaded ilive reader (it's my first time using this program).  I opened the stop_R$$$.dat file and a huge list of entries are shown.  When I click on a single entry, one of the values read "R$$$5_2x2" so I'm assuming this represents a specific Maxis 2x2 growable.  If I were to remove this entry, would it be able to grow?  Also, is there a way of knowing which building is for each entry? All I see are numbers and random letters.

Can someone tell me if I'm heading in the right direction, or is there another way/program of customizing the no Maxis mod?

-Thx

You're on the right track. You could use lot editor or sc4tool to visually see which building goes with which file in reader by matching the instance ids. When you are loading something in LE to see what it looks like the number before its name is the instance id, which you can match with the column in reader. The numbers after the R/C/I$.. are the growth stage, the higher that number in general the larger the building. I did the same thing you're looking to do recently.

wow, thanks for the advice!  I just removed the files that weren't stage 8 or 7, but dhamp's was what I was looking for as well.
