Cant get intersections to work with NWM

I have been playing around with creating roads and such with the WNM or NWm which ever it is called, and cant seem to make any intersections through them at all.  I have searched tutorials for the answer but there are so many and those I have read dont seem to help much.  I have been able to create a mave 6 with a median but I still cant seem to cross over it with regular roads like it shows in that tutorial.  I am pretty sure I have the right NAM installed and the WNM too boot.  Can anyone tell me what I need to do to vreate intersections that wil come together?
The main reason I downloaded these modds was to create cities that would grow large 250k plus but not have the traffic troubles that I had without these modds.  Any help would be apprieciated.

You simply drag it across to make intersections with the NWM.
However, as split MAVEs aren't exactly an intended feature, you will experience problems.

What you're most likely fighting is the Turning Lanes Plugin Overrider.

Simple fix:
Move all intersections with plain Road back a couple of tiles.
