RHW issues recreating Cincinnati

So as you may already be aware, I am attempting to recreate the real-world city of Cincinnati in SC4.  I've downloaded the NAM, and got my region set up, and am having a few issues.  While I have played SC4 since it came out, it's only recently that I've gotten back into it and downloaded NAM and some of the custom content, so forgive me if any of these questions are overly noobish  :D  I've started blogging over at http://simcincinnati.wordpress.com if you want to check it out - I'll be posting in the MD threads when I get a little further, but feel free to follow along over there.

So (one of) my first tasks is putting in the downtown interstates, I-75 and I-71.

1. As you can see there, there is a gap between the regular RHW8 and the diagonal / orthogonal transition piece that I can't seem to get rid of.

2. When trying to lay some of the pieces, especially the filler / puzzle pieces, I would rotate with home/end and get the piece I wanted, only to find when I drag the cursor over to where I wanted to put it, the piece rotated by itself.  Or, if I tried to tab to the correct piece in the correct place, the rotation I wanted would not show up.  Has anyone ever experienced this?  I'm starting to wonder if it might be related to the slope of the area I'm trying to put it in?  Sometimes when I flattened things out a bit it would work better.

3. On that vein, I've seen reference to hole digging lots and slope mods, but there seem to be several of those so I was wondering if there were any recommendations on the "standard" ones - I did see smoncrie's hole digging lots here.

4. In downtown Cincy, 75 and 71 cross together on the Brent Spence bridge, which is a double decker 4 lane bridge - 4 lanes going south on top, and 4 lanes going north on the bottom.  I assume that there is nothing built that would support that yet, but I thought I'd ask...

5. You can also see in my screenshot that I have built a FLUP underneath the RHW.  In the How to build Functional Underpasses tutorial thread, it says that there are pieces that support FLUPs under RHW, but I was not able to find them in game.

6. Sometimes when I am deleting RHW pieces (as I continually screw up and try again), some of the RHW pieces get bulldozed into regular roads, and no matter what I can't seem to get rid of them or lay over them with "fresh" RHW pieces.  If I try to bulldoze them, they bulldoze but then also convert the RHW tiles right next to them into regular road tiles, repeating the process till everything is gone.

Anyway to fix that?

7. Is it possible to have exit ramps off a diagonal RHW-8 (or any other RHW)?

8. Similarly, is it possible to have a diagonal RHW neighbor connection?  (I'm thinking not but thought I'd check)

9. Lastly, check out this pic

I was trying to put an elevated RHW4 over a diagonal RHW4.  I found the puzzle piece that allowed me to do that, but no matter what I do, I get that missing triangular section.  Any thougths?

Thanks for any and all answers anyone is able to provide!!

Trying to answer some of your questions.

(1) Have you tried to use the filler pieces? (can be found in the RHW Starter Pieces TAB-ring)
(2) Try to move your cursor one tile. Maybe then it will work.
(3) Shadow Assassin's Hole Digging/GroundRaiser LOTs (can be found on the LEX) are particulary good ones. I use them myself very often. It lets you dig holes or raise the ground by 8m, 10m, 12m, 15 or 24m.
(4) Nope. There is none, since the game simulator would make the bridge quickly overcrowded. For the same reason there are little double-decker pieces at all.
(5) Check the RHW Road overpasses TAB-ring. There you'll find them
(6) Hard one. Try to drag out the road stubs and then place a puzzle piece over it.
(7) Not yet possible. In fact, the RHW-4 Diagonal Ramp Style A is the only diagonal RHW ramp yet.
(8) Only non-functional. (You can drag an diagonal stretch of RHW to the edge and make an neighbour connection, but due to the game mechanics it doesn't work)
(9) Again, use fillers.

Hope it helps!

Best,
Maarten

To answer number 1 and 9;  In number 1, extend your RHW 8 to about where the curve will be, then place the curve piece on the end of that strech, then place a starter piece on the RHW 8 near the curve (one tile away), that should fix it.  For number 9, build the diagonal section, then drag the elevated section over it.

There are only diagonal RHW4 exits.
