night rendering is messy

Here is a picture of my night render of my parking garages.  All the edges are weird looking.  This is making me crazy.  Any ideas?

The day render looks great BTW.

I changed the game's rendering mode to software and it looks good now.

now its a new question...
Is this an issue with my graphics card or my settings in GMAX?  And how will this look on other people's machines that are running under hardware mode?
