What is SPAM? You ask.

Well, originally it was canned spiced ham, then it was email you did not want, now it is the . . .

Sim Peg Agricultural Mod

Right now, it is in Beta over at SimPeg. If you are interested in helping out with the testing, please stop by and let us know.

The SPAM is now ready for beta testing in the PCG (Prefered Customer Group) forum.

If you are already a member the PCG, you will be able to see the PCG forum, and download the pre-release SPAM beta for testing.

If you are not a member of the PCG, and would like to be part of the beta test, please send a PM to:
abcvs, Becca, Paeng or Vab423 and we will add you to the PCG team.

Also testing now are the SPAR (SPAM Access Roads), by Paeng, and the SPAM-IC (SPAM Irrigation Canal), by yours truly.

There are no special qualifications to join the PCG, except a willingness to test the (you know what) out of the beta items, and let us know about any issues.

I have to say that I am quite impressed with the BATs that have been put together for these projects, particularly the canals.

&apls Great job Becca!

I think these, they look great.  Especially the fact the the radius is not perfectly round....the jaggded edges make them look more realistic.  I'm wondering if there are any other imperfections that could be added in here or there.
Do you think an over hanging prop could be made for a water sprinkler to go into an adjacent farm field from a canal piece?  eg.  A canal piece with a hose leaving from it (like the one above) but has a over hanging prop of a sprinler type thing that would sit in part of a grown farm field.  I hope that makes some sense.  ;)

Nice retexturing of the barn... the colouring certainly fits the game palette better than Deespona's original model  &apls

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it

It makes perfect sense to me :)

It is something we would be willing to consider for a future update. The main focus of the SIP (Simpeg Irrigation Pipes), for now, is going to be to simulate mainline water distribution, not specifically actual irrigation. However, that is something we will consider for a future release.

Not bad. I think the scale of the irrigation pipes seems a bit narrow though, unless they're meant to be for individual farms. Over a long distance, hitting multiple farms, it seems like a larger diameter would be required, but then that's partly what the canals are for. I'd suggest enlarging them a bit, but aside from that, things seem to be moving along nicely.

They are for individual farms. We figured there were already plenty of wider pipe sets available for long distance, and decided to start with the thinner ones for local farms. If we get enough demand for a matching set of thicker pipes, we will look into making a set, when time permits. The pipes are, right now, not a big priority as we are hip deep in SPAM :)

There are three variations of that model, yellow, white and red.

That should cover all the bases   Although I'm surprised Peg didn't make his own buildings, as this is the sort of stuff his reputation was built on.  But I know myself, it's much easier to recycle than to re-invent.  You should see my library of Evermotion models I've bought over the years...

Don't forget to add original creator credit though, otherwise it could be misconstrued as plagiarism, which I'm sure would horrify Peg.
