I've just recently installed windows 7.  After installing the game, I went to switch it from right to left hand drive, as I was upgrading from windows xp* and my game's default is right hand drive.  To avoid confusion, I am what you could call "left oriented", and I would want the game to have left hand drive.  So, I went into regedit, and after searching a bit, I found "language".  If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here.  Instead of the language being 1, is was "English US"  I tried changing it to "English UK", but it didn't work.

It's so frustrating! &hlp  Please help!

*When you upgrade from windows xp, you have to use the "custom" option, which conducts a clean installation.  Don't worry about me, I backed up my files. ;)

It should set to UKEnglsh, but I don't use Windows 7 so am not sure how you would do that   :)
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?" DEATH thought about it. "CATS," he said eventually, "CATS ARE NICE.

Thank you, but that is what you name the language folder.

Actually, there's no need to mess around with the registry to switch driving side, as there's actually an easier way involving editing the game's shortcut path, much as you would to turn off the intro screens or specify a custom resolution.

smoncrie's post here describes how to do it.  I use that method myself when testing items in LHD mode and can confirm it works very well in Windows XP, Vista and 7.

G'Day Highrise99,

The -l switch is probably the easiest way to go as Tarkus pointed to in the thread.

But a word of caution when editing your registry, from your image you show you are trying to edit the wrong reg key - string (LanguageName). The key to edit is - DWORD (language).

This may not be such a problem in this case but one day you may just edit the wrong key and *, windows may never start again with out a full re-install.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers

I just noticed my game is in terrible shape:
First of all, LHD isn't working, and it has nothing to do with the NAM.  When I go to use a maxis lot, the name and description are the same:  probably the lot name.  No news shows up and if it does it says something like this:
"*Missing headline in database*".  The strangest thing is that when I try to drag a network, it says something like this:
"##Missing Failure Reason##".
Will I have to uninstall and re install the game?
